What sports were you good at?

Pool - played in the Hull Premier League for many years and was invited for County trials but had to decline due to birth of first child.

Boxing - something I did in later years and found I was good at it. My trainer said that he wished I had walked through the door when I was 15 and not 40.

Hockey - was captain of the team in junior school but lost interest and never played again when reaching senior school.

Captain of my primary school football team. But it was a small primary school. 😁

Was decent at cricket until I reached U15 level and found the mental side of the game got the better of me.

The only other game I've played regularly in adulthood is squash, was in a competitive league and professionally coached etc. But then I had kids, so now I just Zwift.

I've always been pretty good at ten pin bowling too actually. I basically always win when I go.

This is where the old goats come along and say "I had trials for XXXXXX" or "I was the best player in my school team, which included *insert name of footballer who played professionally*"

I did have a trial (of sorts) for Darlo. Malcolm Allison didn't fancy me. In fact, he barely noticed me.

In his defence, I was nowhere near the best player there.

Snooker, spent a few years in my youth on the old green baize.

Golf, again in my younger days, used to knock up rounds of between 72 to 78, never entered competitions or anything but not too bad.

I can pick anything up and have a go and be ok at it but I never excelled at anything. I was quite good at cross country as a kid but I hated it. That was probably the only thing I was one of the best at but it was miserable. I have never really run as an adult.

I was always good at footy and still play now but I was never great.

I'm pretty much the same, jack of all trades master of none.

Got really into Audax a few years ago (long distance cycling) which isn't a race, but a test of endurance and managed to get up to 220miles / 350km in one day but even then the bigger distances put me off and I stopped bothering before I got to the 600km or 1000km.

I was dreadful at track cycling as I just didnt have the power as a skinny 13 year old, and dabbled with cyclo-cross later in life, but just dont have the competitive mindset to compete.

I've had a few sessions at the Velodrome as an adult but it is slightly terrifying isn't it? All I keep thinking when I'm going full pelt is that if I just stopped pedalling I could potentially die.

Oh I enjoy track cycling and find it thrilling, I'm just not very good at it - assume you mean because you're riding a fixed wheel track bike ?
