We should have signed Riis when we had the chance. He’s on fire at the moment. Would have made all the difference.
He has been injured for nearly a year with a torn ACL. Came back December 29th 2023.Was his goal against us only his 2nd of the season
We've been well outplayed and won too. Twice against Leicester to start with.I know a lot of people hate expected goals but it shows when teams are getting results in keeping with chances created.
Preston are completely outplaying their expected goals. They take their chances and are a little lucky with opposition missing their chances. They consistently win games that according to stats they should lose.
A bit of luck and being clinical makes a big difference in the championship.
We are the opposite.

Emil: “I’m Finally Back”
Standing on the touchline readying himself to feature after 362 days without a kick, while 14,000 fans roar his name, Emil Riis is feeling all the emotions of a year away from the game brewing.www.pnefc.net
Yes I agree. I remember when Swansea came down from the PL. We couldn’t get the ball off them but they couldn’t score and we beat them. I think teams nowadays are trying to play like Barcelona years ago when they had Messi. They had all the possession but Messi made the difference. He could score or set up goals for the team. We had Chuba who made the difference to our team last year. We need to get him or somebody similar back next year if we are going to have a chance of going up. Him a Lathe could be a good combination. The main thing we need next year though is a George Boateng midfield player.Theres a lot of football snobbery on this board plenty of teams do well playing differently to the perfect football carrick is trying in the championship . I liken us at the moment to Swansea under russell martin pretty in possession but poor at both ends
