Will that be it, after the vaccine is rolled out?

Will there be more novel coronavirus strains that lead to similar measures?

Will we panic at the first sign of the next novel virus and, in desperation not to be caught out again, take harsher measures to avoid being back in this position?

Or will there be mass global conflict following this, as nations blame each other or fight for resources, and potentially war?

I do wonder if life will fully return to “normal”. Sincerely hope it does!

So when a new strain does come we are half way there so in theory should be covered to adapt if and when

I'm not too bothered if we don't go back to 'normal'. I only miss holidays really and they will be back next year I'd imagine.

All of the above, especially paranoia! Any conflict would be started by governments blaming other countries to deflect from their own incompetenc.

The Government will make the poorest pay. They love doing that. Hopefully though we'll just write off what we owe to ourselves and the rest of it pay back over the next 60 years. Trying to pay it all back quickly will stunt growth.

No, probably not. But as we live with flu and that mutates and we can't vaccinate against it all, then a vaccine will probably be enough for life to return to normal.

I have no doubt China will do very well out of this pandemic, I’m sure they will ‘give’ their vaccine to poor countries in exchange for mining, fishing rights etc, that’s always been their MO.

They were building infrastructure and investing in Africa and Southern Asia in exchange for mining rights long before covid existed and this is just another opportunity for them to exploit.

I agree. I think COVID May well mutate over time to a less aggressive virus as many do as is it’s not in its interest to kill the host off. Between that and a vaccine hopefully normality will return next year. Fingers crossed anyway.

I quite like people (who I don't know) being 1m+ away from me! I wouldn't mind if that didn't change back, having a bit more personal space.

I think we wil see an annual jab that covers flu, covid and probably a few other things as time goes by. There's been a flu vaccine since the 1930's, but as it evolves it still gets rolled out every year.
