When to overtake the Blades?

its a 46 game season every team is where they are on merit

Could argue Sheffield United aren't given they haven't actually paid for one of their key players.

Especially when most of their defeats have been when he hasn't played.

They still owe for Sander Berge, Rhian Brewster and Oli McBurnie..

They might actually need the extra money from the playoffs!

My take on the run in.......

Yep 3 points away :censored:

Joining us in the Play-Offs - Luton (4th), Blackburn (5th), Millwall (6th)

After we play Rotherham, we'll only have Coventry at home left, whereas Sheff Utd will have 2 games remaining (Huddersfield away and Birmingham away).

I am hoping we are ahead of them by 3 points by FT @ Rotherham.

I think they'll beat Huddersfield in the following midweek very easily - they're an extremely poor side. And then it'll be down to GD...and you've got to assume if we're level points by then, then our GD will be better than theirs.

I'd happily take a final day shoot out.

Us v Coventry and them v Birmingham.
This if we're ahead on GD. The basic premise of win and we're overwhelmingly likely up (as the Blades don't score many and would have the GD to overcome, likely by a few), in front of a Riverside full house👍

Also to take into account, games aren't played on paper. Got to take into account players fitness, mental state. Sheffield United have a gruelling match wedged in now in the FA Cup to factor in. Will the 4 home games help if they do fall to 3rd with added pressure from the crowd filtering onto the pitch? Look at us home against Stoke, when it wasn't going our way it was edgy from the stands. Injuries, niggles, decisions all to factor in, it's going to be close and closer than i ever thought it would be 6 months ago.

If I could choose, it would be the last kick of the season, a Chuba winner 7 minutes into injury time in an epic last day 4-3 victory.
Would be a brilliant end to a brilliant season… if I survived the drama of it all!

I'm sure Carrick is concerned with one game at a time as he has no control over other teams results. If we don't do our part then we won't get 2nd.
One thing that both us and Luton have going for us is that we have a single goal for the remainder of the season, namely to keep picking up points and piling the pressure on.
Sheffield United though have promotion, the FA Cup and the spectre of administration to concentrate on and it'll be a lot harder for them to focus. I know they'll likely get walloped at Wembley, but a cup final appearance will still be part of their thinking.
Sheffield United are trying to keep a number of plates spinning, us and Luton are there to with the sole purpose of making those plates crash to the floor.

As we hit squeaky bum time, the relegation threatened teams become as dangerous as anyone.

I'd hope Brum and Hudders are still in the survival race by the time SU play them!
