Where would this XI finish in the Championship?

There might be a few teams who would swap their starting XI for our non-starting XI.

Might as well play the OAP Team from father Ted in midfield, would offer more pace. Even though they're probably dead now.

Still think it'd lack physicality, power, drive and leadership in a lot of games. That gets you over the line as much as technical ability in a fair few Champo games IMO.
I get what you mean, but technical ability goes a LONG way in the Championship. Sure big physical teams are cheap to build, right to play against.. but do they go up?

I don't mean all of them, still like them technical as well ideally.

I always think we look far too nice a team to play against. I doubt there is anyone in our squad who opposition players are worried about playing against.

Watching Howson play against Sander Berge was like watching lads v dads.

We just seem quiet, meek, easily bullied, outmuscled in midfield quite often, lack of shithousery and dark arts to see out a game when it is becoming a battle.

Our players have been decent technically (to Championship standards) for most of the time since relegation as our wage bill would attest to. We just seem to lack leadership, belief, physicality, power and a willingness to attack a ball at a set-piece or get a last ditch challenge in.

Oh, and our set-plays are predominantly awful!

I don’t think there’s any real needle in the Burnley squad either. Sander Berge is a freak, he should be playing for a better team that Sheff Utd imo

I think we look weaker when we can’t match the quality on the pitch from the subs bench. Everyone has ups and down, carries knocks, gets fatigued.

The lack of leadership has come from the top since relegation, Warnock I think addressed it with Bamba and Peltier and Carrick seems to have lifted the whole squad. I do think he’s brought back leadership and belief.

Barlaser & Stewart would improve the squad.. the more the merrier!

I'd still be interested to see how Djiksteel and Bola would fare in our team ahead of Smith and Giles.

I'm still not convinced by Giles defensively. He allowed the Burnley player to come inside onto his left foot far too easily the other day.
