Agreed. Drury is completely awful.
Occasionally tries to take the pish out of Maddo and pass it off as banter. It’s never funny though and makes him sound like a complete chunt. Which probably sums him up.

Sorry chaps, I think he is ok. I enjoy the away match commentary when I cant be there.
Agreed! To be a bit constructive (in case he's reading
) I think it'd improve a lot if he worked on a few things with Maddo before recording. Half the time he tries taking the p*ss about something it will be something like "Shall I tell the listeners about the hilarious way you eat chips!?" and Maddos just going "I don't know what you're talking about".I'm with you on this one. I have no problem with Drury at all.

He's an awful commentator. I feel sorry for people with just the radio commentary. I can see what's going on and I think anyone listening hasn't got a clue what's going on. Too busy spouting a load of drivel.

Maddo contradicted him several times on Monday - speaking as a player, he put things in perspective and made Drury look ignorant.
Drury spends more time talking about others results and misses out chunks of games whilst play is ongoing.
Ali and Bernie on Century were definitely better. I feel for Maddo.

Listening to other local radio commentators Mark Drury is definitely one of the better ones hard act to follow and i think he's doing a decent job.

He’s awful. Watched the match on IPTV yesterday, had the Boro commentary. He gets ridiculously excited when the opposition have the ball and also when they are making subs goes into over the top detail and excitement . Think he had a hard on at one point because they brought a striker on for a midfielder.
Not convinced at all he enjoys the Boro doing well.

I'm not a massive fan of his commentary, but rubbish like this winds me up. He's a Boro fan and Boro commentator, why wouldn't he want them to do well ?
Can I also just point out that for all the re-writing of history there were a number of people on this board, and outside of it, who used to slag Ali off something rotten, accusing him if having "rose tinted glasses" and being "a club mouthpiece".

I think he doing alright to be honest. Quite happily listen to it for games I can’t watch.
One thing I do find a bit strange, I’m pretty sure Paul Addison used to do the commentary for BBC Cleveland when Ali Brownlee was at Century. I always thought he was a pretty decent commentator so I don’t know why he doesn’t get a go particularly when Drury can’t make it for whatever reason.
