Who's your money on?

Come on then, who grabbing that 3rd promotion spot?

I'm still sticking with us, I know we have our defensive issues but goals win you games and I just think we have the firepower to get us over the line.
If Fry is fit then I'm really confident. If he's not then we will need to get a bit more luck and come out something like 4-3 in the semi and 3-2 in the final.

If not us then my guess would be one of Norwich, West Brom or Watford if they manage to gatecrash the playoff places.

Its not just us whose form / results has gone out of the window....

Luton and ourselves still look very strong bets for 3rd and 4th, PNE making a charge? Still very tight for 5th & 6th.

Play offs then become a lottery

I know this probably sounds silly but i am confident as long as we dont face a Watford, West Brom or Norwich - All three have been nothing special this season but in a one off game in the play offs with those 'experienced teams' would worry me. I look at the other teams and just feel they have all over exceeded this season and believe we would just have the edge.

Of the teams in their currently, i would much rather face Luton at Wembley than over two legs in the Semi.

Whoever puts a couple of wins together outside that top 6 will sneak in, Blackburn have a horrible run in and Millwall seem to be struggling now too

50 goals conceded - This is a worry. We need to be better in defence. Our attack is not always going to be free flowing and scoring and we will have some very tight games coming up.

Luton will be feeling very confident and rightly so. They seem a very resilient team.

However absolutely anything can happen in the playoffs so god knows. We need to just make sure we get there.

Watford, West Brom and Norwich have each won one of their last 5 games, so would need a huge improvement in form to have any chance. In fact, Watford have no chance IMO as the max points they can get is 71 and that won't be enough. Hopefully we can put a nail in Norwich's coffin on Friday but they have a reasonable run in and a good GD so they could yet squeeze in. West Brom have a really tough run in so I don't give them much chance of getting in, but if they do they'll have taken points off the likes of Norwich, Sheff Utd and Stoke and therefore would be going into the playoffs in good form.

Preston also have a tough run in, as do Millwall. The hardest of the lot is Blackburn and they have a shocking GD going into games with Coventry, Preston, Burnley, Luton and Millwall, so I'm going to predict that they miss out and Norwich just squeeze in.

Regardless of all of the unnecessary analysis above, I genuinely think the playoff final will be Boro v Luton - a classic match up of attack v defence. A one off game can go either way, but as we found out when we came up against Norwich, a team that scores loads can have the measure of a team that relies on clean sheets. So I'll go for a 3-1 Boro win at Wembley over Luton.

If we play Millwall over 2 games I think we'll beat them. And I also think we'll beat Blackburn if they make it to the final. But my gut feeling tells me Luton, Norwich, and a now resurgent Preston will get the better of us if we end up playing any of them.

We will be back firing on all cylinders by then, no one to fear if we perform to our full capabilities.
C'mon Boro

As it stands at present I'd fancy us, I have a bad feeling about Norwich sneaking in, Watford getting in would concern me most, they have proper underperformed and have top players that could show up for the big occasion, especially at Wembley, they would have to hit form to make it.

I think playing Luton at Wembley would suit us, more space to play football against them and play to our strengths rather than a compact Kenilworth Road.

I think one of Millwall or Blackburn will miss out, possibly both.

Luton for me, think Boro will finish 4th. Millwall Blackburn for the other spots.

Boro v Millwall
Luton v Blackburn

Boro v Blackburn final.

I'd still fancy us as I feel we can score against anyone, more than once.

Whenever we go 1-0 down, I still fancy us to come back in games, under Carrick.
