Why does John Foster insist on blasting out 'Freed from Desire' literally a second after the referee blows for FT?

I also am not sure how Gala has become the "go to anthem" these days..I can only assume its the "na na na na na naaaa naa" bit for the crowd.
It wasnt a great track back in 91 and I'm sick of hearing the opening bars of it EVERY TIME any football match is on, be it WSL, Champ, PL, Euros...I wish it would just f&&k off to be honest.

This ☝️

It's the forced "Americanisation" of sport that gets me - I don't go to a match to be part of the "all round experience" or "sing and dance and join in"

Malaga have a great atmosphere generated by their core group behind the goal (even when we're 5hit like we are now) and it goes on for the whole match ....... and there's no poxy lights or music at all
100% this! The high press, the offence, the multiple pointless ad breaks on sky when watching at home to get more sponsors in, rebranded EPL to suit world markets..the list goes on. It's only my opinion but its happening in the UK a lot.

SUVs
People who say Seasons instead of Series for British shows (If its a British show, its a series!)

*I'm well aware I'm sounding a bit Alan Partridge here, so I'll stop while the going is good lol

The lightshow starting two seconds after the final whistle is a bit much it doesnt give people who have photosensitivity anytime at all.

Hate it. Hated the fireworks when we won the cup. The atmosphere from the crowd is what I want to hear. If I want to hear sh1t music I’ll listen to a sh1t radio station.
Why do people insist on inflicting on others what they think is a good idea. Really ***** me off. You can’t even escape the *****
128 yrs and you begrudged the fireworks?

They didn't impact on the celebrations at all. If anything, they added to it.

Again, your opinion. For what it’s worth, I’m glad you liked them. I on the other hand didn’t and had no choice other than to watch and hear them. The crowd was immense, the atmosphere fantastic. Then, the corporate spectacle started and I was left thinking ‘weren’t we enough, the sound of us was awe inspiring, the sheer passion’ with the fireworks and glitter it became how ‘they’ wanted us to celebrate. Irked me.

Absolutely spot on, but you've got to remember it's aim is to create the Sky "spectacle" and appeal to todays kids and young adults with the attention span of a gnat who need to be "entertained" - sadly it appears we have some of them in our fan base as well

I have never heard anyone mention this until now all these years later. Everyone loved the experience winning the cup final and so many people commented on this very forum about how they so enjoyed the build up music, the giant flags, the fact the atmosphere was so incredible with the roof closed. And then afterwards the fireworks were a backdrop to the celebrations.
But anyway, people choose to celebrate in different ways. Why attack those that enjoyed singing along at the final whistle after the latest victory? They are Boro fans too and believe me there were fans bouncing up and down all over the stadium.

I was speaking generally rather than just the CC Final and it's becoming more and more prevalent now. For everyone who likes to celebrate with that manufactured "atmosphere" there are equally many others who think it ruins it.

The Spanish (for example) don't need fireworks and light shows to create an atmosphere or celebrate a win

The bit where the cup was lifted was something I’d dreamt about since being a small boy. It was then when the roar from the crowd should’ve been heard as we cried out in jubilation, relief and in most cases, disbelief that we had won a major final. But no, boom, fireworks and what we got was akin to a cross between Britains got talent and the Xfactor.

Because, the singing was drowned out by the ticker tape fuckfest that ‘they’ wanted.
I remember when football felt real, before all the money came into it. It was a spectacle, made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. It doesn’t need all that razzmatazz.
It’s like having a perfectly good steak, bursting with flavour and drowning it with peppercorn sauce.
Actually it’s more like sitting down to tuck into said steak and someone drenching it with said sauce without bothering to ask you whether you want it. That’s how I felt, I certainly aren’t attacking others I just find peoples beliefs bewildering.

This is probably the most likely scenario. I get the impression that most posters on this board are 40+ and football clubs and sky are probably more focused on the under 25 market than us old farts.

Maybe some of us just need to accept that the game we grew up watching is never coming back.

I have no love of fireworks either the distress they cause to animals to me its an unnecessary additional element to any final

Not quite. I was immensely happy when we were all singing. The atmosphere was incredible after the tension. I thought there was no need for the fireworks and music. It was our celebration and it was drowned out. It’s a football match ffs. Not the superbowl.
Sorry I cannot agree with that, the whole batter match thing at Cardiff was immense and will forever live in my memory. Strings of Yasmin always makes the hairs on my neck stamd up whenever I hear it (along with Rocking all over the world🤭)

Pleased for you. Genuinely. The point I’m making is I don’t get a choice.
