Wilder throwing players under the bus

He's got a great job there. He can just shrug while the ship sinks and wait for his sacking at the end of the season, without having to take any responsibility.

I bet getting beat by 'the previous manager' yesterday will have stung.

He has an arrogance that you need to be successful, but unfortunately he doesn’t seem to have a control valve with it like say a ‘Conte‘ or the ‘special one’ occasionally deploy. I think his only option now is to pin his CV to the dressing room wall, that should do the trick.

He was flirting with the media until the Watford job came up, he can't have many more managerial failures left until the media becomes his proper job.

He needs to be careful here. Players will know he’s only a stop gap so have no real reason to play for him. If they keep losing games they will soon find themselves comfortably in the bottom half of the table which will be another black mark on his fabled CV.

They won't need to sack him, he is only contracted until the end of the season isn't he? Which always seemed a bit odd.

I never realised how unlikeable he actually is until the end of his tenure at Boro and everything I’ve seen since.

I'm in the same boat. I never liked a few of the things he used to say in his interviews (continually calling fans 'punters' I always found a bit disrespectful in particular), but he's such a bitter bloke.

He’s, couldn’t he have had a shave, looks like he’s been on a 4 day bender

I never quite warmed to him on a personal level. Seemed to have a bit of the "Strachan's" about him.

No, I always found Strachan "likeable" I did enjoy him not playing the media game and dismissing stupid journo questions with the contempt that they warranted. By all accounts he was always polite and patient with most fans face to face (everyone can have a "bad day") .

I find very little to tolerate in Mr. Wilder.
