Remember years ago, Cecil Parkinson knocking up his secretary Sarah Keys? Front page scandal, tabloids had a field day. Forced to resign, doing the expected thing.
Now.....based on current Tory MP extra curricular activity it would simply muster a ".....and". Probably a promotion too.
Current crop of Tory MPs have really raised the sleaze bar to new levels
I was listening to a podcast about The Purfumo Affair at the weekend (We didn't start the fire) and they tried to imagine how it would have played out should it have happened today, and the consensus was that it would have blown over a lot quicker given Christine Keeler was female, over the age of consent and it was never proved she disclosed anything to the Russians anyway.
However the main reason was because of the vast amount of scandals these days, especially amongst our friends in the Conservative party.

I'd love Sharon Smith from Doncaster who has been discovered to have accidentally claimed a few quid in benefits she wasn't entitled to, to simply state "I've apologised, and now we should move on" as that seems to be the standard soundbite from government ministers about their misdemeanours.

Really annoys me this.
Not wanting to reopen old debates because I appreciate there are different opinions on the subject. But, during the Gaza ceasefire debate kerfuffle Lindsay Hoyle expressed concerns about the safety of MPs. Now you can believe that or you don't but Wragg was the chief instigator of the no-confidence motion in Hoyle.
Fast forward a few weeks and here's Wragg jeopardising the safety of MPs, staff and journalists all for (as Myfanwy would put it) "a bit of c0ck".
