It really will be if we suffer another long term injury in CM.
 
Also while you lot were all moaning about Pulis not picking wing, I was telling you all that Tav was the man. I am THE BOSS of football knowledge. Everyone moaning about pundits not providing enough insight should listen to me instead. (y)
 
I wonder if Warnock is thinking of a formation change, maybe switching to 4-2-3-1?

I find it stunning to slate a guy who basically cost us nothing.

We have players on 20-30k + a week who cost 5-15mil who are far more of a drain on resources. I get Sav has been better this season but you can't tell me he's 7mil 'better' than Wing? Probably on twice (or more) the wage.

I don't understand how you can look at Wing and say 'get rid' especially if he isn't replaced.

I would rather of got shot of 2-3 ahead of him..... Well in my opinion😉
 
I think Tav might move into midfield now that we have some natural wide players. Or possibly McNair moving into midfield now that Hall is back? Either way, I don't think Wing was going to play much this year so this is a good move for him.

I do think we'll bring in another striker, I'd be surprised to see Ashley Fletcher stay if he doesn't sign a new contract. Looks like Britt could be off to Celtic if he's not going to be part of a Famara Diedhiou deal. Oumar Niasse is still a free agent..
 
Hayden Coulson is probably our backup left back, I can't see him going. But if he leaves, that's probably where Johnson will play.

I think we're more likely to see players backup other positions too. So McNair or Tav will be backup for some of the centre mids. Watmore and Bolasie will be backup for strikers or either wing if players get injured. Dijksteel and Bola will be backup for the centre backs.

Probably a good idea when there's little money to spend to trim the squad and get players who are great in one position and good in a few others. We don't really have the money or pull to have players being paid to sit on the bench all season in case of an injury.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't a better player than me.

Who he is sponsored by doesn't make him a good player. He is poor and offers very little. I'm entitled to my opinion.
 
Good move for Wing, better for him to play at his age than sit on our bench just in case we get an injury, he's not really one to bring on when we are chasing a game or want to shore things up either. I expect Tav will be earmarked for more of a midfield role when he returns given we have now signed Bolasie, who will expect to play more often than not. Spence and Johnson too will cover there now we have signed Fisher and Watmore.

Btw do we get to vote for another FMTTM sponsored player? Is Bola still available?
 
Two thoughts on Lewis Wing:

1. Would a serious weights regime / cross fit plan help him. We all know he has talent but his main problem is lack of physicality, some extra muscle would obviously make him stronger and faster. Look what it did to Cristiano Ronaldo (he came back one season and had piled on some muscle and kicked massively).

2. I wonder if he would have any success playing outwide. Drifting inside where the full back wouldn’t know whether to go with him or not into little pockets of space where he could get his shots off. Also hugging the touch line and just whipping quality balls into the box. Also using the overlapping run of our fullback to give him that yard to drift inside with the ball etc
 
I don't think I saw him have good full game, if you know what I mean. At his best he featured in a game with some positives, but didn't sustain it throughout. In and out of a game, at no point did you ever think he would take a prominent role. Considering his 'late' emergence at a full time professional level, he'll make a living out of the game, probably more League 1 and 2 than higher. Good Luck to the lad.
