Worst Album You have Bought

Loved by many but it was Tubular Bells.
Heard bits of it on the radio and had a record token for my birthday so rushed down to Boots to get it.

My mum and dad thought it was rubbish and I secretly agreed with them, but couldn't admit it as it was my first "grown up" LP purchase.
Kept trying it over the years as thought I would grow into it, but no! Apart from a few minutes here and there wondered why I bothered.
Still got the album in the loft somewhere as a memento of the first album bought, but it will never be played again.

As always it's good to know that people like / dislike different things, or the world would be a very boring place!

Saved Bob Dylan ......I have everything Dylan has done or just about. This album stinks.

Farewell to Kings - is Rush........ awful album.

Parachutes - Coldplay is absolute butt fumes.

Kasabian - Kasabian........ is dog logs

There are plenty more.

Any house, Rave or Rap, there maybe the odd track that makes you tap a foot , but I would rather have to shout help to silence whilst on fire.

Kasabian are definitely a band I should like, but don’t. Maybe it’s the Leicester thing!

Diamond Dogs - Bowie

Loved every album of his until that, worst thing he ever did In my book, only rebel, rebel stopped me binning it.

Absolutely loves Diamond Dogs except for Rebel Rebel bloody advertising jingle,different tastes eh.

Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica.
Always made the list of "best ever" albums, so off I went and bought it. Played once, left on the shelf for about 10 years. Then tried again, but still rubbish.

Just given pt. 1 a quick go on Spotify and it's certainly a tricky listen. It has a certain charm though.

I always get flak for this but I really can’t stand Marvin Gaye - what’s going on. So disappointed because it is rated as an all time classic.
kid A was major let down too, because I love the bends and Ok computer.
I bought a jackmix album when I was a kid - there’s an album I was so saddened of wasting my money I just pretended to like it.

Diamond Dogs - Bowie

I'd put Diamond Dogs in the 'classic Bowie' category. Loved it then and love it still. Now if you'd said Lodger...ai muchacho take my ears and feed them to the cat.

Might be controversial to some, but I really didn't like it. It was sold on within a very few weeks.

Japanese Whispers -The Cure.
Liked 'The Walk', thought the rest was pap.

Worst album I've bought? Maybe I'll be Your Girl by the Decemberists. Although they'd been slowly going downhill since Hazards of Love

Personally I think it’s their best album. They’re not a bad track on it and I loved it when they performed it at Abbey Road with an orchestra. But I remember having an argument with one of my son’s friends about it and he had the same outlook as you. Hated it with a vengeance. He’s 33 now….

My girlfriend accidentally bought it on my iTunes so I technically bought it, think it was Adele’s second album. Not my sort of music at all and hated every track, kept forgetting to delete it from my iTunes and any song would be swiftly angrily skipped if came on shuffle.

I’m with you on Marvin Gaye too, I have tried listening to it more than any other album but just cannot connect with it, worse, I actually dislike it.

After many attempts I have given up all hope.
