Worst Ever Boro 11 - We have our team!

If we're having a midfield 4, I'll dispense with the positions but will give the 4 I'd pick.

Don O'Riordan
Pat Heard
Mick Buckley
Paul Ward

I'd put a case in for Colin Ross too.

Step over king Adam Hammill is our RW!

Voting now open for LW / left sided midfielder

My vote goes for an earlier suggested journeyman Mark Yeates! Pretty miserable times for the club and his signing really highlighted how far we had fallen since our PL years.

Missed yesterday, but agree with Hammill, king of the stepovers. At left wing I was always pretty underwhelmed by Billy Askew, but just for his penalty which nearly hit the corner flag against Southampton my vote goes for ‘the little waster’ Bobby Thompson.

Don Burluraux was a massive dissapointment. Built like a jaguar with the speed of a cheatah ... he looked the part. Never ever saw him get the ball past a full back ... local lad so maybe not a popular choice

His goals probably rule him out but let's be honest Tarmo Kink was woeful. No positional sense, couldn't beat a man. Couldn't cross.

Couldn't half shoot mind.

Viktor Fischer player predominantly on the left for us didn't he? He was pretty bad, looked like he was running through quicksand.

I don't remember Don Burluraux as being a particularly bad player but in those days there was only one susbstitute so if you weren't in the 12 you didn't get to play at all. He had 4 starts and one appearance as substitute then went to York and Darlington which is what quite a few players did in those days. He's also one of only two Boro players to have had three 'u's in their surname.

After a very good start Alan Moore became incredibly underwhelming for us.

Probably far from the worst, but way up there in terms of ultimately failing to meet expectations.
