I wonder how our heroes (in their errr prime) would fair against our current team?

Alves should have been able to score without Rochenback tbf Downing was in the top five of prem assists. We were restricted in midfielder as we couldn’t buy any players in January!

Morrison - Ask West Brom fans. Pure robbery. 1.5m. Twice the player O'Neil was.

Hoyte was naff and if you can't see that then despite my enjoyment of your lighthearted notebook craic then I still think you're about as bright on footy as anything else.

We clawed 1m back and got relegated???

Yes. Digard already had a big injury record before we signed him.

I don't give a flying F about downings record. I loved and still love him as a player but that doesn't change that his balls from wide were pointless exercise with Alves up top.

Oh no.. nobody liked my post! Lol.. and you finish with not knowing what planet I’m on!

Cattermole was causing a load of bother in town.. he had to go unfortunately. Wish we had kept Morrison, I really liked him and he was a sold player for West Brom. We took decisions that we thought were best for the club at the time. Didier Digard’s injury history..

Hoyte wasn’t as good as Luke Young nor was he our first choice a replacement Gretar Steinsson was our top target but they were after £3.5m if memory serves.. they kept upping the price from £2.5m and we pulled the plug.

My lighthearted notebook craic? That isn’t me! Nobby does all the notebook stuff.

Alves shouldn’t have needed Fabio to hold his hand.. a £12m striker needs to find another way.

I'm not rude, I'm direct and despite your lighthearted attitude on the board - which I thoroughly enjoy - your actual contribution on football is akin to a 15 year old on football manager.

I don't care about Steinsson. I care about reviewing a manager who let a winger whip balls into a center forward who couldn't head a ball to save his life while letting 400? games of Premier league experience leave without anything resembling an adequate replacement.

Get in the real world ffs.

Morrison is second only to Downing imho as our best academy product in recent times. Southgate should have been building the side round him, Wheater, Cattermole and Danny Graham under financial constraints rather than spunking cash on Mido, Ali had a mare and Hoyt’s. We all knew what Mido was like, had an attitude problem at Spurs and as for the other two, Southgate seemed obsessed as some points in making us Arsenal lite. I read some time ago a quote that you shouldn’t buy anyone Wegner had deemed surplus to requirements.
