I don’t know. I’ve no real political leanings either way. I’ve never voted Tory tho.

Can’t help thinking if Labour hadn’t moved so far to the left when they elected him leader then we may never have had Johnson elected as PM.
He's the worst but you don't know why?

Could it be because the (largely right wing) media have hammered that message and you've not bothered doing any critical thinking about it for yourself?

One of the biggest issues of this country well demonstrated.

Erm just how many elections did he win ?
How many did Blair win?
No need for the agression roofie grow up. It’s an opinion.
I`m more than confident my facts of how many votes Corbyn got.
If you mean seats in the Pantomime Chamber of Westminster - that says a lot more about the inadequacies of the voting system.
Having support from a broad spectrum of the voting population gives a far more realistic indication of the mood and policies the voting population agree with.
Blair went to war on a pack of lies and killed millions - on less than 30% of the total available to vote.
I dont call that winning.
Oh. Try posting without being offensive. There`s a big difference between that and being assertive.
Good morning.

It's a very hard question to answer. You can make a case for so many.

The likes of JRM and Braverman would be right up there if they were ever given the opportunity to become PM. They are unbelievably stupid and cruel but haven't quite had the power of others (although the nazi-lite **** shouldn't be anywhere near the office she does hold).

Still staggering that Johnson and Truss ended up in that position. Considering the damage they did do it's frightening to think what they might have done if they weren't incompetent narcissists.

I think thatcher was particularly nasty because she was competent and capable. She knew what she was doing and fully understood the impact. She didn't believe in magic unicorns or that waving the union flag around more would magically solve problems. It was all cold, calculated and based in the real world.

I think she probably pips Johnson for that reason. Although it's very close. Johnson was a complete F***ing joke who has done a ridiculous amount of damage to the country economically and socially. He also has a lot of blood on his hands. But he was a delusional idiot and wouldn't have got anywhere near the office without a lot of help from others.

And he had plans for the Final Solution too?
Foolish comparison.
Why put words in someone else's mouth?

Churchill was, in many ways, abhorrent. Was he Hitler or Stalin? Of course not. Were it not for WW2 he would barely merit a mention in our political history we have lionised the man for far too long. He wasn't evil but he did and said many things that were not even acceptable then. He is one of the lies we tell ourselves about being "British".

I've gone for Johnson because at the end of Johnson's tenure I would actually have replaced him with the reanimated corpse of Thatcher. She was at least competent.

There can be only one, the Plutonium Blonde.

I am sure you don’t mean the one giving a lecture to the Institute for Government today.
Cost the country £30 Billion, and managed to do it in a record time of only 44 days.
Yet still can have her ex PM pension of £114,000 for the rest of her life. That one?

Don't forget the 14 deserving eggers on and coat holders on her honours list.

Churchill is not worthy of being anywhere near this discussion. People forget, or don't know, that was a Liberal from 1904-1924. Not only that, he was one of the most progressive Liberal MP's and significant Cabinet members of the Asquith Government, probably second only to and, as President of the Board of Trade, key partner to Chancellor Lloyd George in advocating and pushing through significant social reforms that formed the foundation of the welfare state we have today. That Liberal Government established Labour Exchanges, minimum wage levels, working hours, unemployment insurance, health insurance, old age pensions. slum housing reform, free school meals, trade dispute arbitration, prosecution of exploitative employers, tax reform...

If you are on the Left, Churchill is worthy of hero worship for being a significant player in all this alone.

Went for Johnson as marginally worse than thatcher, she (wrongly) believed in her policies of destruction, that somehow they would lead to better for most people (she was wrong again), Johnson doesn't believe or particularly care about the hell he unleashed, he just did it for access to power, and to stroke his own ego. That makes it worse. He also enabled the worst set of politicians this country has ever had and weaponised the culture war.

As others have said: Thatcher for me. She was the disease the nation suffered that gave us this current cancerous government.

No her, no Johnson

Cameron with austerity/ BrEXit versus Thatcher who decimated UK manufacturing, mining industry, steel industry, sold all the council houses, privatise the railways and utilities....off the top of my head.

I'd still go with Thatcher, even though Cameron's 6-7 years were devastating for a generation.
Go with most of that however it was John Major who privatised the railways, she did privatise train building but stated the privatisation of British Rail itself was a privatisation too far

Ah, yes. Labour making ‘gesture’ move against her having the entitlement to do so.
Be interesting to see if in some way it went to a vote how many Tories would vote with Labour.
None probably.
