Start 9am near the old Station House cafe (Thorpe Thewles).
Wynyard Woodland parkrun, on the Castle Eden walkway, follows the old railway line and is entirely composed of hard surfaces. The course is designed as an out-and-back route, with a halfway turning point, providing two opportunities to appreciate the stunning scenery. The start and finish line are located on the walkway adjacent to the platform and café.
The event starts approximately 50 metres from the Station House Tea Rooms to the left on the walkway (opposite the old railway carriage).
Free parking.

If you are new to parkrun then register and print off a barcode

you will need this for your run to appear in the results and join parkrun community. You will get instructions - very easy a few minutes before the 9am start.
Exciting to be at the start of a new event.

A favourite spot of mine for a walk and a bite to eat afterwards. Fantastic scones and a good choice of pastries for you athletes. The lentil soup was on form last Saturday too. Enjoy it.

I didn’t realise that was this weekend had seen 22nd as the start date somewhere.
This will be my nearest Parkrun, not sure to attend the initial one though as some of them get hammered from people desperate to go to a new one.

There were over 400 runners splodging through the puddles as the official start run was brought forward a week.
So many there the car park and overflow was overflowiing. I had to park in Blakestone Lane.
Am sure it will settle down in future weeks.
There were people there wearing Stockton Striders, Crook AC, Billingham Runners but also loads and loads there for a healthy start and a new event.
One feature that will make this event popular is a gallery forms along the old station platform to cheer and encourage the finishers.
Then of course it waa all into the Station caf to devour a scone and enthuse about the 5-1 at the Riverside.
See you next week.
