Got this a month or so ago, however when i’ve went to use my playstation, its getting ridiculously slow speeds (4mbps) so is effectively useless. Does anyone know what to do?

Try contacting youfibre? Not saying that glibly as I contacted them about an issue and were quick with their answer.. it want resolved as it was due to incompatible printer over their WiFi…

I would check your speeds on other devices first what speed are getting on your phone. Isolate wether its on your end device ie playstation only or across your entire network.

Phone im getting 300+ which is fine. But my ps4 and firestick which are in the same room are getting 4-8. Im thinking its something to do with the eevo router and it not covering that part of the room as well

Yeah never had a problem with them other than their prices.
Spoke to Youfibre and they basically said my ps4 only has 2.4ghz whereas it needs to be 5ghz for youfibre
Is this wired or Wi Fi?

If it`s wifi can`t you go in to set up connection and the choose 5ghz only instead of the 2.5ghz option?

Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection > Use Wi - Fi > Easy > (Wait for connections to load) > Scroll down to your network connection > (Look at the bottom of the screen and choose "Options Menu" ) > Wi - Fi Frequency Bands > (By default your frequency will be set to Automatic (2.5ghz)) > Select 5ghz only.

That should be job done

Yeah tried this but the option button doesnt do anything. Apparently this is only available on the slim/pro ps4 and the ps5

That’s correct. You will have to use a wired connection to get fast speeds with the original ps4 as it doesn’t support 5ghz.

2.4ghz would still get a lot faster than 2-4mbps and eero is compatible with 2.4ghz anyway? - you'd still be getting numbers well north of 100mbps on 2.4ghz, which has much longer range than 5ghz

If devices in the room are getting faster it's an issue with the device unless you live in a house the size of Bruce Wayne's mansion.

That said WiFi is a thought gash network type for anything other than phones etc if it's for TVs, consoles and the like run an Ethernet to where they are from the router and use a cheap £10 switch to cable them up

You could update the firmware on the eero router. A further option to try is to change the wifi channel used by the 2.4ghz network. Unfortunately the supplied Eero is a pretty poor router.

Have you opened the right ports on the router. For my xbox I have about 6 ports open to make it work

Why is that?

It is often said about the routers that companies provide when you take their broadband but I'd imagine that they'd want a decent product so that their customers have decent service.
Cheapness thats why. I had many incarnations virgins superhubs and always used my own router to get better performance. The eero is a decent plug and play router but its absolutely crippled in terms of configuration controls. Its good for maybe 90% of customers but if you want change settings for advanced use cases your screwed. When i moved to youfibre again i used my own router a pfsense box instead of the eero. Recently i upgraded youfibre to 2000mbs they provided a top end asus router which has been brilliant with advanced features like qos, vpn servers etc

Is it the AX6000 router? How good is the WiFi on it? It looks pretty high end but I currently use a mesh network with three nodes that works pretty well for me.

might be tv set to 2.5g and the youfibre is inly 5g. just go to tv network setting and change to 5g connection. happened to me.

Youfibre eero is 2.4 & 5ghz combined, I think you can't just specify different networks without enabling their compatability mode / legacy device mode which slows it down a bit

They're ok routers for most people but missing some features as ultimately eero are owned by Amazon and they sell vpn and privacy services, so they're missing features that are paid subscriptions, but you can't even get that on youfibre anyway.
