I've always been one for always squeezing the last penny out of a deal to purchase anything, TVs, house, car, new fridge, whatever.

I'm wondering what your best deal was, and any tactics you employed to get that deal.
 
Not me but recently a mate of mine found a rare northern soul 45 while in the US. He asked the seller 'how much' and the seller didn't know, so he looked up past sales online.

The only sales he could find were that of a lookalike bootleg for $8-10, so he said ok then, give me $8. Deal done.

Turns out the record was an original, and so my mate put in on ebay and it sold for over $8k :D
 
If we're talking records, then I bought a copy of the Drill EP by Radiohead for about £5 (it wont have been much more as I was a skint student) at a record shop in Reading when down there for for the festival.

I then sold it for around £80 when at Uni in Manchester but see on Discogs that it's gone for over £400, should have kept hold of it.
 
Bought a surf board from a flat in salt burn for £35 , looked a bit scruffy , but once the old grease was off it cleaned up, and I sold it as a collectible from a surf shop in Swansea for £460. Jackpot .
 
I bought some planters girlfriend wanted for £400

Arrived with slight chips on them, told me to keep the originals - sold them for £350

Had frost damage 2 years ago - Had a warranty so claimed and was sent new ones and told to keep the old ones, again sold the used ones for £300, new ones arrived chipped - got another set - sold old ones again, new ones fine so far 😂 don't think I'd dare claim again but did ok out of it

Also ordered two nine inch nails records and one arrived damaged, they offered me 10% off but I declined as it would bug me, so they replaced them. When the replacement came they sent one of the damaged one and 2 of the non damaged ones 😂

My brother didn’t get one but I said I’d take him anyway and we’d find one.
I’d have paid whatever - he was dying of Cancer.

I was walking round East Mids Airport just asking random Boro Fans.
A couple came up to me and said they had 1 spare.

They quoted me a figure (over the asking price). I quickly said - that’s in euros ..yes?
They said ok.

Gave them the euros which basically took the price of the ticket just below what they paid for it.

As we were walking on to the flight the guy came up to me and said I’d ripped him off.
I said nope - you agreed and, btw you were prepared to rip a fellow Boro fan off.
