Zack Steffen

I’ve been a fan of his all season and was delighted he signed.

Feel the last 10 or so games he’s became even more consistent and went up a level.

He looked every bit a top class goalkeeper today, had no chance with the goal.

Passing excellent, Handling excellent, some great saves and a well timed tackle on Gyokores.

It’s a shame he hasn’t kept clean sheets recently but I think that is more because of defensive frailty at times and how we play rather than anything Steffen is doing.

He’s gonna be massive for us in the play offs.

Unfortunately there are still those in the crowd who don't trust him for some reason.

Early on into the game I can remember him taking a risk with the ball at his feet and some fans panicked but if I remember rightly we were able to free Giles up on the left by playing through the press. Don't these people realise that they're going to cause him to make a mistake and will put him off.

I loved it when Gyokeres was chasing him down as the ball was played back to his feet and he didn't even bother to take a touch and just shifted the ball onto his other foot.

I definitely have been a critic of him at times but has like been said above I think his all-round decision making and execution of it in recent games has touched new heights, and some of his shot stopping is the best at the moment. Whatever he does next season he definitely needs to be a regular because I feel he will keep on improving more than most players

He has definately grown in stature and confidence as the season has gone on. Some really good games from him lately too. He’s been unlucky to concede a few due to dodgy defending, but if we can somehow get him back for next season, I do believe we will see more clean sheets from him, and a few more assists.

He’s poor at crosses and has a mistake in him, makes me nervous with some of his distribution but is capable of good saves when you don’t expect it.

I can’t think of a single time he has cost us from a cross.

Without doubt he is the best distributor of the ball as a keeper in this league.

I agree with others, lately he seems to have gone up a level and certainly where I sit at the riverside some people seemed to have calmed to his technique.

I was initially indifferent to him at the start of the season, and felt he cost us a number of goals. That said, I still thought he was a vast improvement on the likes of Lumley.

As the seasons progressed, he seems to have taken his game to another level. He’s definitely one of the most improved players in the side.

I’d now be very disappointed not to see him join us next season. His shot stopping has improved (that save on Monday early doors v Coventry looked destined from the back of the net!), his catching and commanding of his area has improved as well.

Like others have said before, his distribution and passing is integral to the way we play. It’s not an easy thing to replace, certainly at this level (and who knows where we’ll be next season!).

There’s always been some fans that like to blame every goal ever conceded on the keeper. Some lads I’ve spoke to reckon he’s crap and we can do better. Some of them thought the same about Mark Schwarzer too, which is more a reflection on them than the keepers.

And there’s still the “He takes too many risks” BS. 🙈 I’ve given up debating it now. Talking to a brick wall.

He's definitely improved. I am really going to miss his playing out from the back ability. I am sure the team will as well.

It's an interesting summer. We need a keeper and CF. Just like last summer.

I guess that's the issue of loans. I can't see Steffen or Archer coming back if we fail to go up. That said I'd happily have both on the priority target list if we go up.

Fans around me today having kittens as early as the 2nd minute, must have been their first game of the season otherwise they would know what to expect.

Brilliant today when it came to collecting corners as well.
This always happens when we get the non regulars and a full house I find.

They’re not used to seeing us play modern football, probably the last time they saw us play was under Warnock with a big launch up to Uche.

It’s not about 442 and jumpers for goalposts anymore, we have a young progressive manager that understands how to play the modern game, at last

If ever the zenden song applied to anyone else it's super zack steffen in goal.
Last 2 months he's been excellent

Great keeper who has pulled off some great saves. I will be sad to see him go but I believe if we go up, he will stay.
