No I am not.

Lodger used the word Armageddon if the current mayor is re-elected. Without explaining exactly what that means.

I am suggesting that yes, whilst the town has it's issues, some worse than other towns, it's nowhere near as bad as some on here would make it out to be.

My quote was about the council, not some of it's most successful businesses.

The mayor himself has admitted that the council is very close to bankruptcy, also very close to being put into special measures, hundreds of thousands of our pounds have been spent on fees to try to sort this.

That's after the 4 years he has been running the council, our council has never ever been in such a state, my suggestion is it will get worse- if that's possible, if Preston is returned.
 
I think I speak for all us when I say I hope he stays in power for a very long time to come, all hail our mayor

Also any funding that is available being spent on the completely wrong thing, too many vanity projects.

This is spot on. We used to pop over to the town centre once or twice a month, now we're only there for the occasional trip for foods on Parliament Road aand Linthorpe Road area at that end.

It's typical of many town centres in the country coming under the influence of crooked administrations at both national and local level.

We've seen the destruction done to town centres locally since the TDC made a mess of their long term future, now we have the same but more localised, this time the greedy hands are within MDC.

I too think Pothole Preston will be successful. The Gazette still sells and you can read about all of his successes in the rag whilst he turns Captain Cook Square into a penny arcade.

There's a thread about Starmer trying to bar Corbyn from standing as a Labour candidate a few down with over 300 posts. There are dozens of extremely anti labour party comments on it. It's one of many similar threads on this site.

I generally find when people complain of bias on a message board, what they mean is "why aren't people agreeing with what I'm saying, it's not fair!"

I think he was asking you, as you made the comment: A few people have taken to this thread to insult a labour counsellor, yet when questioned as to why not a single one of them has been able to give a reason.

It seems like a Preston rent a mob, paid to intimidate and harass to me

Unfortunately none of the over candidates are anywhere near. Andy Preston will walk this.
I don’t like the guy or how he goes about his business.. but there’s no one there I would vote for.

Even Rob has picked up on that.

I'd imagine it would have something to do with the Labour guy not being a Corbynite so he's obviously out of his depth, knowing exiled's views.
