Mr Preston is standing again!

Rob maybe a few home truths. Labour are not offering any vision. All I read is how much they hate the mayor and other councillors.

Why would anyone vote for that?
Preston's vision consists only of enriching himself and his mates and conning the public that he is doing something through a constant stream of publicity photographs.

That's better is it?

yeah and dragging a charity shop worker out of bed at 11am to say he’s ‘born and bred in boro’ is really going to inspire people to vote against Preston.

Chris is a very honest and caring guy, he deeply cares about our town, he actually lives in my ward behind Morrisons, he's just a normal guy wanting to do his best for the town.

A total refreshing change to the current administration.

Look mate, I am not suggesting for one moment that you are a 'crook" but producing an up to date DBS shows you do not have a criminal record. It could also mean you just have not been caught
But it has been stated many times on here that Ben Houchen and Andy Preston have they hands in many pots shall we say. Now i don't know either of them, but if I had apparent proof that they were up to something I would be informing the authorities.and not posting on an internet message board.
I believe both are Boro fans so it is entirely feasible that they could look on here.
What if , like yourself is entitled to do, they decide to call out the comments and bring in the legal teams?
Rob, or whoever controls these forums could quite easily be required to release known details of those who make their public comments.
So like i have posted, I have seen Rob challenge only 1 side of the spectrum. It could be in his own interests to challenge all.
I suggest you start looking through old (and current) editions of Private Eye. Neither Preston nor Houchen have sued them.....

I have no doubt that he is an honest and caring guy and wants to do his best.

What is his best btw?

Truth is, the council don't have any money to have a list of things that will get done, this next 4 years will be about rebuilding trust and fixing the mess, involving the residents making small changes so to improve as many lives as possible. This next 4 years under a Labour administration won't be a trailblazing 4 years but a period of calm which will involve lots of talking to residents and users.

This is spot on. We used to pop over to the town centre once or twice a month, now we're only there for the occasional trip for foods on Parliament Road aand Linthorpe Road area at that end.

It's typical of many town centres in the country coming under the influence of crooked administrations at both national and local level.

We've seen the destruction done to town centres locally since the TDC made a mess of their long term future, now we have the same but more localised, this time the greedy hands are within MDC.

I too think Pothole Preston will be successful. The Gazette still sells and you can read about all of his successes in the rag whilst he turns Captain Cook Square into a penny arcade.
A penny arcade that I’ve heard from people who have been is pretty amazing with more to come.

some things you don’t need money for..
what will are the small changes going to be?
4 years of calm sounds like 4 years of doing nothing and talking to residents.. and users?
well that just sounds like Labour have no idea. power for power’s sake, poor decision making, not listening and remaining out of touch.

Love him or hate him Preston is playing the game of politics far better than Labour are and that will tell in the polls.

What Joe Public see's is a vision that moves us to a night time/leisure based economy from a rotting dated high street retail cemetery. Promise of more jobs, new housing, new offices, new investment, new business creation, revamped train station. He is being seen as regenerating the mess that labour left behind.
Factually correct or not, as bad is it seems, is irrelevant. That is the picture that has been formed over the last 4 years.

Compare that to Labour...they are standing a candidate that no one has heard off (not his fault) with a promise that they are going to spend 4 years having a chat with Betty and Norman in Berwick Hills...
They have allowed the narrative over the last 4 years to be that local Labour are serial complainers and blockers to progress, with no actual plan other than get Preston out. That will not bring voters back to Labour.

I have asked a number of times "What is Labours plan if elected to a majority with a Labour Mayor" I still have no clue what the answer is."

Most of the electorate do not understand how councils work and will not do their own research, Labour should be shouting about the positives a Labour run council will make to the town and how this will be achieved. Instead we get "Armageddon", "bullying", "corruption", "multi-millionaire", "crisis"...

Try getting the opposition decent reading space in the local rag. We all know who Houchen and Preston are but do you know who the other mayors in the Tees Valley are?

It was the same with the candidate they put up against Ben Houchen.. totally devoid of ideas and so far removed from what would be considered electable. Out of touch wannabe career politicians.
He's already won previous elections?
