The ground is empty by thenIt isn't so much the song, it is how fast it is played after the final whistle .
Give it a few minutes for the natural celebrations to finish.

But many fans loved the fact it was played straight away - it was the timing of it that they liked. And also we all stayed behind where I was to wait for the players to make their way right around the ground from South to North to take our applause. We were the last out of the ground - as usual - celebrating into the night. It's my one major issue with match day now. No issue with them playing the song I just think it doesn't need to be straight after the whistle. Give the fans time to sing then put it on a few minutes after. That way it would probably draw out the atmosphere more. Where as the way he does it by the time the song's finished everyone is heading for the exits. Also it seems to take forever to get to the chorus. Can he not just play the bit everyone sings along to.
Also noticed that by the time it's finished the players are heading off down the tunnel. Rarely get them walking up to the North Stand anymore
For me it kills the atmosphere but then I'm a miserable git in my 40s. The kids all seem to love it
As I said many like it, including my kids. I'd just prefer a more natural celebration. The games under Wilder last season with the players all together in front of the South Stand singing "Wilder says" were brilliant. But many fans loved the fact it was played straight away - it was the timing of it that they liked. Yes, this is what I'd like us to go back to.The games under Wilder last season with the players all together in front of the South Stand singing "Wilder says" were brilliant.
True but it was a moment in time that wouldn't have happened if "Freed From Desire" had been belting out 1sec after the full time whistle.A moment in time!
Fordy out!We must be winning if this is all people have to complain about.
It’s the new Sweet Caroline. An improvement, but we could still do without. It kills the atmosphere at FT.
Noticed it for a few games now. The crowd seems to want to celebrate the win and yet he ruins the chants/celebrations by doing this.
I wonder if it's worth against Coventry not doing this, to see what the atmosphere is like, ready before the PO's.
If we won the PO semi-final tie at home after the 2nd leg, I can imagine the whole stadium would be bouncing and we wouldn't need 'Freed from Desire' being blasted at a 1,000 decibels.
because they need to get out of audio reach.. before My lovers got no money blasts outAwful piece of music played far too early.
But I'm more bothered about the acres of seats left empty with 15 minutes to go. Why leave when playing the best football for nearly 20 years?
