Why does John Foster insist on blasting out 'Freed from Desire' literally a second after the referee blows for FT?

Watching it on TV as I was, the ref had hardly finished blowing his whistle and the bl00dy stupid lights started flashing and the ridiculous music kicked in and at no point could you hear any singing along - just the crass music. Embarrassing
Imagine he got it wrong and the ref was blowing for a foul. Now that would be embarrassing.

I think it just comes back to letting the atmosphere play out as naturally as possible. Doesn't always work well which is why we have the drum.

Why would you start it 2-3 minutes after the game has finished, when the place is deserted barring the south stand and a scattering of other fans?

People are moaning about fans leaving 15 minutes before the game has even ended, how many do you think will be left then?

I think people wanting it to kick in with the chorus a bit quicker (like it does before the match) is a fair argument.

But to suggest it kills the atmosphere is just living in a different reality, for that to be true the crowd wouldn't engage with it (like Steel River). Just on Wednesday you had the whole south stand jumping up and down signing and singing along with "Chuba's on fire", the kids in the GRZ love it (my daughter certainly does) and I often see people in the North stand dancing and singing.

People on here for years have wanted rid of Pig Bag (I don't love or hate it personally) and every time they have tried something different like the Power Game or Steel River it's been considerably worse, to the point where we're now back to Pig Bag in it's entirety because the crowd at least engages with the music.
“The whole south stand” hadn’t been there for fifteen minutes. GRFZ starts emptying even earlier.
We’d take the **** out of other fans just walking out when flying.

I don't have an issue with it personally. My biggest gripe has always been goal music (which thankfully we no longer play) and not turning the music off 10 minutes before kick-off when it's a big game and the atmosphere is building. Hopefully John Foster will have the sense to do this before the home-leg of the play-off semi.

I do also find it strange that he doesn't announce the subs or the away team.

It’s way, way too loud for a start. If it wasn’t as loud it wouldn’t bother me, I mean it’s not my type of music anyways (I’d prefer pigbag TBH) so it’s not aimed at me, and it seems like the majority of the stadium enjoy it especially the kids

Plus, it only gets played when we win… so I will just have to learn to accept it haha.

As for light shows, I just don’t see the point.

The lights fack up the end of game - when the cameras are panning across the team and it looks like you`re in a crack house or Gaskins on a student night.

Just leave it out. We might be stupid, but there are enough people trying to manage our behaviour and thinking, without.......some person with a digital mike and a red button.

Just cut the crap and let us decide how we enjoy the end of the game.

Anyone heard of Pavlov`s Dogs?

Do we need the music? After we've put 5 goals past another battered opponent I'm sure the fans would be in fine voice anyway.

I always thought it was called Free from Desire, you live and learn. I'm sure Ken Bruce would have still given me the points though.

I'm in the age category who you would expect not to like it but I'm a fan!

Why does the new Mark Page feel like he needs to be the conductor of an orchestra?
Don't call anyone the new Mark Page. No one deserves that.

Hate it. Hated the fireworks when we won the cup. The atmosphere from the crowd is what I want to hear. If I want to hear sh1t music I’ll listen to a sh1t radio station.
Why do people insist on inflicting on others what they think is a good idea. Really ***** me off. You can’t even escape the *****
