Carrick realised it wasnt working and he changed it

To be honest Jedi, it was not rocket science, most of our new signings are not up to the Championship standard required and needed to be dropped from our starting lineup.

Carrick has made courageous and intelligent decisions, that most of us, myself included wouldn’t have dared make. Playing Crooks as a no.10, playing O’Brien at left back, starting Coburn ahead of a striker the club have just spent £5 million quid on. MC continues to prove he’s a good manager for me.

Did we really spend £5m on Latte?

I don't think many of our new signings were Carracks choices, and as for playing Crooks, he often plays Crooks, also not signing another striker, kept Coburn at the club, so if Latte wasn't scoring in the Championship, then it makes sense to give Coburn minutes on the pitch , and take the pressure off Latte.
Lewis O'Brien has played Left back before, and with Engel looking like a fish out of water, and Bangura injured then what other choices were there.

That’s management.

Hopefully the new guys will all come good in time but well done to Michael for admitting it wasn’t working and changing it.

Thing is, he has changed by going back to what was successful last season!

One attacking full back, McGree playing wide but becoming the second number 10 etc

He started the season playing with 2 more orthodox wide players keeping their width with the full back staying behind them or coming inside, and it just didnt work

Starting the first few games with silvera instead of mcgree was beyond stupid and cost us points. Thank goodness hes come to his senses

Well I wouldn’t put it like that… but… 😂

I guess Carrick thought if we didn’t have a decent attacking left back, we would have no width with playing McGree left mid

Fair enough. Seems to me some fans find it very easy to criticise, but very difficult to give deserved praise.🤷

He's doing what he should of done at the start of the season let the new signings bed in and develop get up to speed then introduce them of the bench and hopefully they come good. I haven't wrote the signings of yet they are just projects. But then you have to hand it to RVB he's the cheapest most inexperienced of our signings and is thriving

Possibly showed his inexperience as a manager, in thinking that what the new young signings showed in training, they would replicate in the championship

I would imagine Rodgers and Silvera look decent in the 11 v 11s at Rockliffe

It just shows what the ineptitude of the recruitment team, we have the baseline of a mid table championship team. We will be hit and miss till January. The positives are I think now we will keep carrick and push on but we have been let down with what we have the boys on the pitch give everything we played some good football we are still wide open defensively which carrick needs to address. I think we will beat Cardiff but can’t see us beating Sunderland. Kieran Scott has January to redeem himself only one player on the pitch from our summer signings the man’s an utter disgrace but the manager and the team are doing there very best.
