he was too small, gassed after 4 and only had one tactic, use head movement to get in close without getting hit then hooks and uppercuts....great when it worked and he exceptional at those angled hooks and uppers, brutal, but come up against a bigger guy with a great jab and it didn't work. He had no plan B either, nothing. He would have lost to Lewis pre-jail, that's why he paid him not to fight.Yup the 80s was poor although I disagree entirely that Tyson was limited, he didn’t have a great resume due to the era he fought in but he was very skilled. Would have liked to have seen him in his prime in the 90s.
At least we now have a decade we are comparing this era to which is one of the worst in heavyweight history.
Anyway, I digress, this era is better than that one and if I could be bothered I could find other point in times where it's worse. It's human nature to romanticise the past.
