Joshua Usyk

Yup the 80s was poor although I disagree entirely that Tyson was limited, he didn’t have a great resume due to the era he fought in but he was very skilled. Would have liked to have seen him in his prime in the 90s.

At least we now have a decade we are comparing this era to which is one of the worst in heavyweight history.
he was too small, gassed after 4 and only had one tactic, use head movement to get in close without getting hit then hooks and uppercuts....great when it worked and he exceptional at those angled hooks and uppers, brutal, but come up against a bigger guy with a great jab and it didn't work. He had no plan B either, nothing. He would have lost to Lewis pre-jail, that's why he paid him not to fight.

Anyway, I digress, this era is better than that one and if I could be bothered I could find other point in times where it's worse. It's human nature to romanticise the past.

I agree it is but that’s not something I do, I’m just calling it how it is, the 80s was poor, the second half of the 80s anyway, won’t see me romanticising that. I think this era is better than parts of the Klitschko era, it has more depth but obviously none are better than Wlad or Vitali.

Klitschko era was weird, had some good fighters like Brewster, Byrd, Haye, Povetkin and Sanders but then had some of the worst and most one sided heavyweight title fights I’ve ever seen.

So have we still got 20 minutes of cheorgraphy, lights & bollox before they actually get into the ring? WHy has Uzek chosen the song that finished 23rd in the 2003 Eurovision song contest to come into the ring?

I think it will be decided late on. I presume AJ will win, but what the hell do I know. Just wish they would ge ton twith it, I cant stand all this rubbish build up.

A Rocky song no less

no easy way out

I think Joshua could end up being in trouble here, Usyk is finding it far too easy to catch him.
