Priority points system

To be fair my mum and dad had a season ticket for roughly 12-15 years. They gave it up last year due covid and my mums health.

I'd have got them to get me a UTD ticket had they still had them. So I'd have 'abused' the system if the opportunity was still available.

So can't slate other folk for doing it

But for a high demand game for example Sunderland away where we would get limited tickets, a season ticket holder who goes to every game home and away could loose out to someone with a season ticket but never does an away game. Thats not exactly fair

Why isn't it? They will have had the same odds as everyone else at getting a ticket.

The club haven't promised them a ticket, just that they would have a shot at getting one.

What you're saying is all season ticket holders should have the same opportunity of getting a ticket, that totally rules out any way of rewarding season ticket holders who go to away games. So the season ticket holder who fancies Man utd away and its the first away match attending has the same chances of a ticket as the season ticket holder who's been to say 10 away games.

Hardly fair is it?

No issue with points system but website is awful. It would not let me manage my relationships and add a family members season card.

I get where your coming from with the privilege mindset but that’s fact.
Are people lucky that they go to every game home and away or is it about sacrifice?
personally I spend most of my expendable income on boro. I don’t smoke, I hardly drink, I drive a 16 year old car and I use most of my leave at work getting saturdays off.
I know most who go are in the same boat.
Loyalty has to be rewarded somehow.
I get where he's coming from though. People tend to hit a time in their lives when they can go to loads of away games. Probably disposable income, no kids etc. Is it really greater loyalty or just good timing?
I'm not proposing a better system though, becasue i don't think there is one.

Exactly.

Like I said earlier. There isn't a loyalty scheme out there that would make it fair for everyone. There's always someone who will feel aggrieved and hard done by.

However, this is by far the fairest scheme we've had.

Are you a season ticket holder?

If so, you shouldn't have a problem.

Where you live is your choice, not MFC's
No can't afford to travel up every week.

It's not about loyalty though is it. It's about money. If I go to matches through thick and thin I'm a hell of a lot more loyal than someone who gets a season ticket when were in the premier league. They get priority over me.

There's also this bizarre notion that going to games is some sort of hardship.
And that someone having everything should have priority over someone who has nothing. There is a cake with ten pieces. I eat nine of them. Should the last piece go to the one who has had none, or the one who has had nine.

I'm hopeful that the club will hold a hundred or so tickets for general sale.

But thanks for your sympathy and understanding anyway.

It could be worse, Liverpool shareholders gets first choice before season ticket holders ( they have lifetime priority rights)..
Have a look at how complicated Liverpool's priority system is and note...
'Tickets will be sent via Special Delivery at a charge of £8.75 per booking.' !!

So you plow your money into other clubs, and expect some sort of loyalty thrown your way from MFC when you don't attend any home games?

Talk about having your cake and eating it.

Why not? Both have put the same amount of money into the club.

A season ticket is supposed to confer the benefit of the option of buying in demand tickets. It hasn't done so in this circumstance.
Because travelling away costs easily 5x the amount of a season ticket if you do 10+ games, along with the numerous days off work to allow for it. Surely that’s worth some kind of loyalty scheme over someone who just does the high demand ones

No. I would just like to be able to watch the football club I support every now and then. I don't think it's a big ask. I'm not asking for "loyalty". I don't even understand what you're trying to say. You think it should be a local club for local people. Fair enough.

They'll still have their points from last season to go on the waiting list

It isn't. But there are plenty of fans out there who actually put their money into the club and therefore should be rightly rewarded at being a little further up the pecking order.

If you can't see this, then that's your problem.

If that was the case then a season ticket holder that doesn't live on Teesside should get more points than someone that does.

For a board that is very left wing it seems to want to choose a very right-wing mindset of gate-keeping who can attend matches with the haves dictating to the have-nots that they don't deserve it as much as they do.

Its not that at all, but surely its only right that the more games you attend the more loyalty points you receive, its done at almost every club in the country that will have a demand for away tickets.

Unfortunately when its this popular you cant just turn up for the big games and expect to get a ticket, for those who travel to almost every game it would be completely unfair to miss out.

Imagine going to almost every game home and away, yet missing out on one of the biggest games of the season, it wouldnt be fair
