England or Boro?

It's a tough one.

Ordinarily, whilst passionate about both, I'm Boro first as practically all Boro fans are England fans, but the reverse is far from true.

If the question were England win the WC or Boro get promoted then it could garner a different answer. However, looking at it rationally Boro could feasibly draw this Saturday and it not derail their progress up the table much at all with wins to follow.

England on the other hand are out if they don't win and a game from the WC final if they do, so going for head over heart I'd plump for the England win. But even bearing this in mind it's still tight!

I was ALWAYS in the camp Boro first, and during the pre-Southgate years id honestly rather Boro won a corner than England won the World Cup, however...

I feel like the country (that includes Boro) could really do with a WC win, not just for football but to really lift the mood of the place. I think a WC win including a win over France and potentially Spain and then Brazil would be monumental, plus Boro can draw at the weekend and still go on my dream run post-Xmas and smash the league ;)

However if the question was Boro go up, or Boro win a trophy or England win one i'd pick Boro all day long.

100% agree with this logic.

I posted this in another thread

If Boro lose against Luton it will affect my mood, I wont want to watch the highlights, come on here to talk about the match etc etc. If England lose against France I will have forgotten about it 2 minutes after the final whistle.

Do i still wonder about Gazza's missed chance against Germany in Euro 96 and what could have been? NO
Do i still wonder what might have been if we didn't get three points deducted and the little fella stay's alongside all the rumoured signings? ABSOLUTELY

great question . Initially went for Boro win ,,, then thinking about it and what could happen if England beat the french and the next potential games then gonna .............................................................................. stick with a Boro win

It's a trick question, don't fall for it. This fiendish poster is conning you into betraying your beloved Boro for those fancy dans England.

You know he's going to ask the same question if England reach the semis, don't you? Then the final!!! It's how these devious shysters get into power, in the first place. How will you feel when you've denied Boro those 9 points?! Shame on you

BristolBoro is Boris Johnson, and I claim my five pounds

Has to be England, it would make us favourite to win the World Cup if we did. A win against Luton will be forgotten by next week

Boro obvo as this world cup thingy really doesn't count as far as I am concerned. An England defeat would also mean I'll be able to get a seat in the pub the following Sunday.

I'm a Boro fan and an England fan.

I'd love to be able to celebrate both winning something during my lifetime. If Boro beat Luton on Saturday, it improves our chances of making the playoffs but we're still unlikely to go up this season. On the other hand, if England beat France, we are a game away from playing in a World Cup Final - something we've not done in my lifetime. And we would have a genuine chance of winning it and bringing much needed joy to millions of English people who really need a lift right now.

I'm genuinely excited at the prospect of this very likeable England team becoming World Champions, so for me, at this particular point in time, beating France is far more important than beating Luton.
