Sunderland Away Ticket Info

But what if they can’t build-up points because the people ahead of them always get the away tickets?

Your second paragraph indicates you agree with @Humpty. A season ticket is now devalued, if you want to go to away games there’s not much point getting one as your only hope is going to the ones in the backside of nowhere where fewer people want to go.

The irony with this is... those with massive huge priority points that you're all calling elitist and UBER fans that have a high sense of worth DO go to the **** end of nowhere where few people want to go.

That's how they get all the priority points.

Who called them elitist?

It's the system that is elitist, not the fans.

Any season ticket holder should be able to get a ticket if they're on the ball and ready to buy when their priority stage comes around for Cardiff, WBA, Swansea, Huddersfield, Bristol... maybe Luton although that one may go to higher priority brackets? Rotherham, usually get that full end so similar to Luton for that one?
Huddersfield gave Sunderland this 2,300
Sheff Utd gave Sunderland 2,700
WBA around is 2,000
Luton around is 1,000
Rotherham is around 2,300

Huddersfield will sell-out quickly if we’re in this form.

Luton tickets will be snapped up in no time due to the reduced allocation.

If there’s anything riding on the last day forget Rotherham.

Bristol City is a question mark given it’s on Easter Monday.

So you’re looking at the Welsh games, the nearly Welsh game and Sheff Utd.

Boro don't sell out every single away game. There's plenty of opportunities to get an away ticket.. a lot of games go to general sale or don't sell out at all.

Hull was pay on the day as we didnt shift all our tickets despite it being less than 2 hours away and £20 a ticket but this was before the recent rise in interest in away games but was only as recent as the start of November

How many priority points are you on?

Not all season ticket fans work at home I work 3/3 off rota miss a lot of games buy a season ticket every year. I will never have enough points how’s that fair

That’s a good point, I never considered that. Good sized proportion of our fan base are shift workers.

Get another job then, mate, put simply!

I know you might think that sounds unfair and harsh but if you are unable to commit to travelling to away games every other week because of other commitments, that's life. You shouldn't get the same level of priority as those that do.

The sacrifices that those make weekly that travel all over should be rewarded.

It's like a fan without a season card (works every other Saturday so doesn't buy one) wanting the same walk up price that a season ticket holder gets pro rata with their season card. Not going to happen.

You'd like to think anybody with over 200+ points will have a good chance. I got a Sunderland mate a ticket for their playoff final (He's honestly not the cleverest with online buying) so I have an account with them, so if i was really bothered would just get one in the home end and keep quiet. By the police restricting the numbers, all they're doing is encouraging away fans in the home end, and the potential for more trouble.

I think every away game has gone on general sale this season so far.

Last season, only Mansfield (tiny) and Huddersfield (local) needed points prior to the Old Trafford game, then I think there was a brief surge in popularity but most games were still available to all, including the Preston playoff decider.

What an awful take.

Loyalty is very subjective.
I personally think someone who has had a season card for over 10 years and takes in a few away games every season is far more loyal than someone who has had a SC for 2 seasons and been to every away game this season.
The current points system prefers short term fans who travel away now and is self perpetuating in nature. It becomes a closed shop.

I always think of those who trudge out of grounds after demoralising performances at places like Reading, Coventry and Millwall this season and admire them, but what about the fan who was there when we got humped time and again at home under Strachan, Mowbray, Monk, pulis etc, let alone before that?

There is no right or wrong with subjectives. I just feel time served and money spent with your own club deserves most reward.

What an awful take.

Why is it?

If it matters that much to you, do something about it?

I had a (very short) amount of time working in the motor trade years ago. Worked every single weekend. Hated it. Missing the game was awful.

I changed my job so I could go.

Why you think the above example is awful and that the lad who is only able to attend half of the away games should get the same level of priority as someone that goes to every single one just because he has other commitments is mad. That's life.
