Latte Lath

Andrew Taylor was assessed and dismissed on his stride/gait being too laid back / casual.

Not sure what he smelled like though.
To be fair Alex Ferguson dismissed several players on their running gait. It's kinda important, limiting on a players athletic performance
I basing my view on the what I’ve seen of him playing, and on what I’ve seen he doesn’t look like the kind of player who’ll score that many to me.
I'm eager not to jump too early on that bandwagon after the Akpom situation. I'd say if he had been fit all season 12-15 is a reasonable expectation on what we have seen.......weirdly lots of people used to describe Britt with his 12-15 as a natural goalscorer! In fact many people still stick with it.

Agree he can only really play up front, rather than either side of a main striker. Doesn't look like he has any tricks in him. He would just push and run. In fact, as others have stated, his touch looks a bit clumsy and a funny choice for a Carrick team, where we have more of the ball and rely on one touch stuff (when we try it and it comes off). Lath seems a run the channels type striker.
Yes he needs to work on his touch, and skills, but that push and run can work, particularly against a full back who lacks pace....see what people have done to Engel, they haven't outskilled him, just push and run past him. Another time it can work is against a side that play with wing backs. it either forces the wing back to stay deep, negating their attacks, or it leaves space in behind and pulls CBs around. Out of possession he is also hard working, and that suits that role well. He has played there before for other sides though, about 40% of his appearances in fact.

It's difficult to really judge how well (or not ) he could play that role as we haven't seen an awful lot of him this season. 11 games worth, but broken up over 17 games and 5 months of stop start appearances. He needs to be fit and given a run to see if he can improve and gel.

Enjoyed that! We certainly are a fickle bunch.

One thing I would say, we certainly need another striker option, as there is no way ELL can play 46 championship games, 90 mins a pop, at the intensity he plays. Will be very important to manage his minutes effectively next season to minimise any injury lay offs

He's such a hybrid - it's hard to know who would be his most effective strike partner. What a talent though. A constant threat both around the box and in the air. His pace is scary and it was inteesting to see the panic on the Leeds defenders when he was on the ball. Exciting times ahaed.

I think ELL will prove to be a decent addition.

I dont think he will be our main man unfortunately.

I think he will either become a real threat off the bench, or potentially he could play alongside someone.

He certainly has the attributes to contribute 10+ goals a season I think, injuries permitting, even in the supporting role.

Still leaves us looking for that top man though .... in my humble opinion of course.
I take it all back

He is the MAINEST OF MAIN MEN!

I believe that ELL is the future … teach him well and let him lead the way!

God I just love him so much ❤️

No regrets on my comments.

He did struggle to get shots off in the first half of the season.

Now his touch has improved, he's shooting all the time and nearly every one is leading to a goal.

I don't think his work rate has changed, but he was working hard in the first half of the season too.

Wonder if he could get to 20 by the end of the season ?

20 goal a season strikers are like buses, you wait for one to come along for ages.....

Would be funny after all the arguments about whether he’s capable of scoring 20 NEXT season… and he ends up doing it this season 😅

Either way, 9 in his last 10 games is absolutely brilliant. Against some good opposition too
