£7 a Pint

Yep same when I travel for work, or course we don't drink in the lounge...
I've taken a new job which will require quite a bit of travel. I think my bank (Monzo) offers a platinum card with free lounge access - c£25 a month but sounds like it would be worth it if making multiple trips each month?

EDIT: It's actually discounted to £20 per person, per time. Doesn't seem a such a great offer!

I went on a stag doo with my 21 year old stepson and 3 of his similar age mates last year. Flew from LBA. I bought 5 pints for £35 . The announcement sounded for our flight so the lads just got up and walked off and left the pints!! I was fuming.
I managed to neck 3 of em before the lads disappeared out of sight and I had to go catch them up.!!
Lightweights!!

Save your air miles, lots of airlines let you use airmiles to access the lounges

I mean it's still savings if you check the prices online. Just not as great as it sounds. Holiday extras also give you about 12% cashback if booking through them direct. Some
Higher tier cards include it but you need to make those cards work (or have them paid for by work)

Paid £7.29 for a pint of Moretti in Newcastle Airport yesterday morning.Has to be done.
Not flown from Teesside for years, due to lack of direct flights to my home in Malaga. However I can conform that the last time I flew through Geordie Central, that there wasn't any type of Draught Lager on sale for less than £6 & that the Peroni was indeed in excess of £7.

I'd just refuse to pay that much for a drink, never really understood the airport pint either.
It's something to do and I enjoy a few drinks before the plane anyway. I'm quite happy waiting for a flight with a load of rum on tap. Holidays are for relaxing, planes are uncomfortable, airports are uncomfortable, can't do anything about the plane but you can about the airport.

Only two places I've ever been shocked at the price of a pint:-

1) The bottom of the slopes in Mont-Tremblant as part of apres-ski, cant remember the exact price but it worked out something like £12 for a pint of local beer

2) I remember getting two small bottles of white wine at AT&T Park in San Francisco during the Rugby Sevens, and paying something like $60 - I should have expected it like, when a small bottle of Bud Light was something like $14 even during the regular baseball season.

I've paid £35 for a cocktail in some very posh hotels, but at least you get why they're expensive and you're not going to sit there drinking them all night, but for a normal beer there's some stupid prices.

As someone used to Scandinavian prices, even I was shocked the price of tins in American sporting arenas last summer. Did Red Bulls and Yankese and probably put away around £200 worth of beer in the process!

The worst one I had recently was Dr. Watsons (previously the Slaters Pick). £25 for a pint and 3 x Rum and Cokes. The coke was warm, poured out of a plastic bottle and they had no ice. On the till it looked like they were charging coke mixer at the same price as a glass of coke (£3!!!). Wish I had have challenged it now but was in Post Match Euphoria with the lads and just paid it.

I used to like the Slaters Pick. It’s a chithole now. Definitely won’t be going back.
We used to love going in there but it's changed beyond recognition. There and Rafferys are ruining Baker St in my opinion.

Paid far more for beer in Stavanger and Luanda.

It’s a captive audience, no different to service stations etc. Still nowhere near as bad as other Airports.
