🐙Cut your energy bills nearly in half with Octopus Tracker

Once they put me on the tracker what is the simplest way to see todays and tomorrows rates? Ta.
If iOS octo aid for me but there is also octopus watch and octopus compare

Think the latter two are also on android

For todays rates I use an iOS automation which is covered in the original post on this thread

If on android you can set up discord alert for maybe there is an app that does it

I set up Octo-Aid but it’s not even showing my correct flexible rates and standing charge at the moment 🤷‍♂️

Have you definitely set up the right tariff? You can go in and select different ones for each meter or even set it to tracker if you just want to see what it will be

They've got a Facebook group with some keen experts and the dev is active in that group too so you'll get targeted support very quickly that way

I can’t see an option to set it to tracker?

When I downloaded it and set it up it asked for meter details etc and seemed to set up automatically.

Where do I find the options to change it?

Found the option now.

Seems to work ok for gas, as just said ‘use tracker’.

For electricity do I choose tracker July 2022?
 
I asked the octopus watch dev about the gas

you’re the second one today to ask this :).

While I’m working on a lot of exciting features for gas – savings rate will not be one of them. The reason is that gas is an afterthought for Octopus Energy. They don’t care about it (rightfully so?) and support is minimal. One immediate problem is that it is virtually impossible to find the gas standard rate in the API. I can do that manually, but I obviously don’t want to check that each day and update the app all the time. I can do it by (easily) finding the electricity standard tariff, and deriving the gas tariff from it, but that is so brittle it is certain to break at some point in the future. there are other problems and it simply means a lot of effort to make just a percentage sign work.

So, given that gas rates barely change (at most once a day on tracker, versus 48 rates for Agile), it is not something I am willing to spend all this effort on.

That shows a standing charge rate of 60.9p a day. That’s not right is it?
No, I don't think my standing charge is right either mind as it shows 48.9p in octopus dashboard and octopus watch says 55.4p but for 6p a day I'm not overly fussed, yours is a bit more out but may correct itself as you go on the tracker

Switch went through on Friday, was told I could go on to tracker as soon as they were getting half hourly readings.

Half hourly readings began showing on my account from midnight Friday into Saturday.

Messaged Octopus on Twitter asking if they could put me onto tracker now, they said they just needed to confirm with smart team when I could be backdated to.

Was told it would be Monday, then Tuesday, then yesterday they promised it would be this morning.

Nothing has happened and follow up messages to them on Twitter today have been ignored.

In my experience it's not reflective. Phone them, you'll get a lovely person answering and he/she will sort the issues out there and then, if not they will promise to get back to you, and guess what, they do.
 
They replied to my dm tweets within an hour or so when I've messaged and emails have been same day response too-

I teeeted them and in fairness got a very quick response and explanation that they’d missed the DMs.

They’ve now moved me to tracker and backdated to Friday so all good 👍

App now shows tracker tariff and also says fixed term ends 22/9/2024.

@ThatFragranceGuy is tracker only available for a 12 month period?
