4 Championship games left on

Hmm call me a cynic but funny how so many have several cases if it’s 4 say 4 5 say 5 eyc

as several sounds like a cop out to me

eep as now they will be played after Jan when the window is open.

That’s true

but surely the 13 fit players and a keeper mantra pushed earlier this week means they should all be on.
Don't disagree....are they discounting non first team squad players in these considerations, otherwise it's difficult to believe that mantra is being pushed?

EFL switching to Covid 'red protocols' amid Omicron surge, with daily testing and new distancing rules introduced at training to try and avoid circuit breaker

  • EFL have brought in new measures to deal with surge in Omicron Covid variant
  • The 'red protocols' include daily testing and new distancing rules
  • EFL have also outlined guildelines for postponing matches - with 14 fit players including a goalkeeper deemed to be enough
  • EFL also reveal that just 59 per cent of players have been double vaccinated

The EFL is switching to 'red protocols', as Covid chaos continues to rip through football.
From Saturday a host of fresh measures will be reintroduced as part of a desperate attempt to avoid a circuit breaker, with matches continuing to fall victim to the Omicron surge.
Daily testing will be brought in along with enhanced protocols at training grounds with social distancing measures required outside physical sessions.

The use of indoor facilities will be restricted, as will group travel.

In an email, the EFL has also told its clubs that as of November just 59 per cent of players were double-vaccinated and 25 per cent did not intend to get a jab.
They also say they will not be making test figures public due to varying levels of testing.

The EFL has responded to the Omicron variant by bringing in daily testing at clubs

In an attempt to provide clarity, the competition has outlined requirements for fulfilling matches. They say clubs will be expected to play where it has 14 players including a goalkeeper available from registered squad list, along with 'Under 21 players not on the squad list but who have played one League match, or any other contracted player not on the squad list but otherwise would have been eligible to play'.

The league has said that double-vaccinated players total 59 per cent, adding '16 per cent are set to get the jab, while 25 per cent of players currently do not intend to get a vaccine'.

Includes under 21's who have played one league game too. I think most clubs would be able to muster that, unless it is all their keepers say?

Some borderline corruption & convenient postponements going on too , the size of squads ALL should be able to put a side out in the top 2 divisions regardless
It would all depend on what contact the squad players who have not tested positive have had with the players who have tested positive.

I know this example is not football but Cummins, the Aussie cricket captain, had to withdraw from the last test after being in a restaurant with someone who had tested positive.

Hull v blackburn is on SKY so that wont get called off isnt it something like 100k for a televised game?

Not necessarily. If they're all training together then they are all at risk from each other.

Cheshire_Boro who posts on here had 17 out of 22 staff in one of his company's office test positive with Covid.

Just need to keep winning

The teams with postponed fixtures will get them stacked after Jan, equals more games per week, whilst we can stick with our schedule hopefully
