A warning tonight to 1 or 2

First half we looked lazy. Midfield were overpowered, and the ball didn’t stick up front. I was angry, so can see why CW was

First half of 2nd half was decent but apart from that poor. BUT Crooks chance was same as Saturday and he missed tonight. Fine margins.

Was their goal offside - my Dad messaged to say Sky said it was.

I watched on sky and they didn’t mention it during the match, but bizarrely my dad messaged to say the commentator on some dodgy American stream he was watching air it was offside. I didn’t notice, personally

They did but McNair got a slight touch on the way through so not offside
Thanks

We’ll find out on Saturday. I can’t really think of anyone who you’d class as not putting effort in though. Some didn’t have the best of games, but that’s football.
He wasn’t really pressing as much or running with the intensity he normally does for me , could just be a case of getting used to playing with Connolly so they both aren’t doing the same things. But it’s interesting Wilder has seen something he hasn’t liked somewhere, I agree, next weeks team selection will be interesting. We can’t win them all, I think maybe Wilder is just frustrated.

Still not sure how the ref or linesman could’ve seen that, but suppose the attacker gets the benefit of the doubt. Either way the flag should have gone up, as he was a mile offside, and I don’t think they would’ve been able to see that McNair‘s lace grazed the ball, if indeed it did.

The penalty was blatant though, and it’s scandalous that it wasn’t given. If VAR was in the championship we would’ve had a penalty and their goal could very well have been given offside.

Yeah, probably just frustration and emotion, as he could’ve easily have taken Sporar off if he wasn’t happy with his performance.

I was surprised when Howson went off tbh.

It was offside but Sky only mentioned it about 15mins after it’d happened, so it wasn’t really obvious to anyone at all. That was the difference really. It was so tight. Gallagher got half a chance and stuck it in the bottom corner, Connolly got half a chance and blazed it over the bar. Crooks had two good chances from headers.

I think Blackburn’s shape in the first completely flummoxed us. We looked poor and were ineffective in their half. When we did get on top in the second half that stoppage in the crowd disrupted the momentum we were building. I personally thought we could’ve had a penalty for the tackle on Jones, wasn’t it a tackle from behind? I thought they weren’t allowed now. I also thought Connolly was fortunate not get a red for the elbow. He definitely had a look at the Blackburn defender and then stuck his elbow in IMO.

A very tight game, if you’re going to lose one of those then best lose it to a Mowbray team. We might need a reality check really. The first half was absolutely awful going forward. But I’m sure we’ll be back on it on Saturday.
