Aaron Mooy on a free?

Seems more positive opinions than negative?

If he's like he was 2017 the he should be an asset you would think.

He’s a lovely footballer. Plays off both feet, can score a goal, can dictate play, plenty of skill. Any team would be lucky to have him in the championship.

He'll go back to Huddersfield, too old for Gibson's new regime.
Not sure I agree with this. He’s 31 yes, but he’s a 31 year old who plays games of football regularly and always has done. The fact he’s now a free agent too would appeal as there is no fee involved. He would be worth a year or 2 deal for anyone with aspirations of promotions in the division.

Always thought he looked a really good player whenever I've seen him previously. Would be happy if he signed (y)

Would be surprised if this happened, it's clear now the club would prefer not to sign players over the age of 30

well we've taken Tommy Smith who's over 30 to Portugal with us
That's right, he's a free agent, we've taken him to Portugal with us and yet we still haven't offered him a contract... I think the club would prefer to sign Nyambe and are waiting to see if we could get that done before sanctioning the signing of Smith

That was my thinking too, which seems such a crap way to do business for the players. Giving Smith a bit of hope for potentially the last contract of his career. CW may have said come along to Portugal, play in some friendlies and stay fit but we're after Nyambe first, but if that doesn't come off we'll sign you but i dont think that will have happened.

yep they'll have been honest with him and either way it ensures he gets a pre-season

Yeah i suppose its just the cutthroat nature of the industry, his wife and family must be hard on them but suppose the mansion, range rovers and private school help ease the pain.

Plus it's not like he won't be able to get another club. He's on trial at a top end (hopefully) championship club. If we don't want him, someone else will I'm sure.

Shades of Jamie Patterson. Gutted we passed on him. Cheers Neil.

I doubt there’s anything in Nyambe or he would be the one training with the club, Nyambe is an orthodox old school right back that gets a nose bleed when he crosses the half way line, I highly doubt we were ever interested and it’s likely it was just his agent trying to flush out offers.

Smith much more suited to wing back and gets assists,

Gibbo may not want to sanction an expensive deal with big wages for an under contract nearly 33 year old striker, a free transfer 30 year old wing back or central midfielder is a completely different proposition.
