Akpom

I bet we want shot of Uche / Akpom and Hall. Yet I can't fathom why they have not been involved?

The squad size is on it's ar*se. These 3 are all better options than the kids.

I was always a bit surprised that Wilder didn't look at Akpom. I mean I'm guessing he's never seen him in training.

All three were told at the end of the season that they should look for new clubs. No point training with us if they've been told they won't play, so they'll be free to train or have trials with other clubs as Tommy Smith is with us.

Tommy Smith is out of contract. None of those three are.

Until we sign a couple of strikers, or they are sold, they should be training with the first team.
 
We are still paying Akpom / Hall and Uche a very decent wage. I imagine especially in the case of Hall and Akpom.

What happens if they fail to find a club? Then not included in our squad list. I think all 3 have a year left? Like Lumley.

I think every club has players they don't want. Yet im sure the majority have them involved. We currently have Watmore and Coburn up top. I'm not sure either has scored in pre season?
 
yeah, Akpom will be a big earner. same with Hall as he came on a free. we will be desperate to get them off the wage bill and would probably have to subsidise any move.
 
All 3 should be training with the group for me , getting up to speed in case they ARE needed. They also have more chance of getting a club if they are showing willing and are ready to go. Seems odd to not include them , unless they are bad eggs, and I'm sure they are not , as their characters will have been checked before we signed them.
Uche is the poor mans Lukaku, but Lukaku does his graft for the team, I'm sure CW can get a tune out of him if he Is fit. Akpom, is not a top CF, so needs to change his game to offer more. We want better, but until we get them, use our resources which we are paying for. I like Uche, get him fitter and he will do a job for someone if not us.
Akpom is so annoying, he has something , but he doesn't seem to graft or want it enough. That's what NW said about Spence, and look what happened there.

If Chuba Akpom was a player called John Smith from Stockton, he'd be playing in League 2.

1 goal every 406 minutes for Middlesbrough.
1 goal every 307 minutes for Hull.
0 goals in 10 games for Brighton.
0 goals in 7 games for Forest.
0 goals in 6 games for Coventry.

Sounds like a good footballer though doesn't he, Chuba Akpom. Google him and there he is in his Arsenal shirt, "Nigerian professional football player"...

All factual. But in reality he's a striker who was loaned out to two different league one teams, didn't score for either...

Somehow managed to then get loaned out to 4 different championship teams AFTER not scoring in league one, didn't score for 2 of those either...

Jonathan Franks, Luke Williams and Curtis Main all have better goal scoring records for Boro and look what happened to them.

probably just so that he can be on a bench option against West Brom if we haven't signed anyone
 
I would rather see Crooks up front

Would be shocked if we managed to get rid without taking a huge hit, he is absolutely terrible

Warnocks number one transfer target 😂

Coulson has been told and he went to Portugal .... cant be that
