He may end up being a better manager than those 2. Doing very well at Bournemouth to be fair to him. If he keeps them up it’s remarkable

Agree with him being a manager. It won't take much to be better than either of Gerrard or Lampard as a manager, however, if Gary O'Neil keeps them up this season, the he should be up there for manager of the season IMO. A remarkable achievement, especially with the way they play as well. They're quite good on the eye.

He’s a really solid and good player and would be good signing for anyone in this division really.

If we get promoted though we will need better and I’m sure he will have plenty of suitors

He wouldn't last 5 minutes here.

I know a lot of our fans detest him (rightly so) after his yellow card incident at Bolton away (in our relegation season), all so he could be suspended so he could watch The Masters that weekend.

So far he's managed Bournemouth quite well.

However, if he goes on to be a good manager, I still wouldn't want him here mind. He's a grade A t*t.

That was the Mowatt most of us were expecting and hoping for when he joined us.
It's a good time to be hitting form, his performance when coming on was his best in a Boro shirt by far.

Saying he's a poor mans Gary O'Neil is being unfair to Barlaser, Gary O'Neil was poor so where does this leave Barlaser? Why all this negativity toward him, is it because he walked off the pitch at the end of the game without acknowledging the fans on Friday?

Eh? I don’t give a stuff about him walking down the tunnel afterwards. I am merely saying he reminds me of a poor mans Gary O’Neil based on his extremely limited game time. I have said I am not convinced his style is right for the Hackney or Howson role. He has clearly performed well in a poor Rotherham team and clearly has ability. I have also said I hope I am wrong and I could well be given the fact we have seen very little of him. I certainly haven’t written him off.

There was quite a meltdown on here not long ago when there were rumours gibbo was looking at him to replace Wilder.

His performances under Carrick have been fine - he's like a different player to the one under Wilder

As above he's played ok every time under Carrick. I wouldn't be looking at him if we went up, but under Carrick in this League I could see him doing ok

Not including cup he has has 192 minutes game time in 20+ games or just over the equivalent of two full games. Its not that I dont like him but just think we could do better. Only got 1 assist according to Flash Scores.

Played his best game for us today. His lack of pace may always be an issue, but he was superb on and off the ball.

I remember a certain Bobby Murdoch joining us from Celtic. His lack of pace wasn’t an issue,he used his experience to good effect and was one of the best passers of a ball I’ve seen in a red shirt. Hopefully Mowatt’s experience will be of similar value to us as was Murdoch’s back then
