Andy Robertson - Liverpool

I watched that video, admittedly the Davies one is a little naughty but not exactly crazy. The rest of it is kind of pathetic really, you’d think he was Ben Thatcher 😂

Wh

What a load of bollox.
It’s not though. The reality is he’s one of those players who opposing fans dislike because (a) he’s a top player and (b) he’s aggressive and abrasive. Football is littered with them, it’s just that Robertson happens to be one of the best around.

Exactly. I know I’m repeating myself but you’d be hard pressed to find a player that doesn’t do those sorts of things several times a game.

I could kind of understand if he played on the edge like Diego Costa but I honestly don’t even think he’s anywhere near Costa. He’s just aggressive and a bit of a wind up merchant.

It is bollox though - When did you ever see Boateng or Leadbitter elbow someone whilst on the ground?

You will never convince me he isn't a horrible player and I certainly won't be able to stop your love of everything Liverpool.

Maravnelli - My narrative of disliking a footballer!! We don't all like everyone.

Agree with this it's assault, not being a bit over aggressive. It's a cowardly act to try and hurt somebody.

My love of everything Liverpool? A truly bizarre comment and pretty pathetic in truth.

I saw Boateng and Leadbitter do such things regularly. I even saw Southgate do it. It’s the nature of football.

What, elbow someone on the floor??

When and who against?

Missing the point massively mate, as are others. He irks people because hes more on the wavelength of a Savage, Diouf windup merchant type character. Not because hes aggressive and combative, of course that part of football that we all appreciate. You cant blame people for not liking shithousery. If you don't mind it fair enough, but if thats the type of character you choose to be, you're going to get stick. Simple.

I’m not missing the point at all. I’m pointing out that it is naive to believe that this doesn’t happen throughout every football match you will see, especially at the highest level.

Well the most obvious would be Southgate’s stamp incident with Keane. Watch Southgate’s tackle. That’s pretty comparable as an immediate example. I’ve seen him so all sorts of stuff on the pitch that is analogous with what Robertson does in that video.

If you cant stand him because hes aggressive, fiery, combatative doesn't mind sticking the boot in and is often an absolute swine to play against I assume you hate Souness, Glover, Leadbitter and Boateng, just to name a few.
Tell me where I mentioned because my issue is with him being aggressive and combative? Good spin. Its the slyness and wind-up merchant nature of his character. I'm saying I personally don't like it, I'm not saying he should be hung, drawn and quartered am I? I'm, saying he's not my cup of tea. Aggressive players such as those mentioned are part of the game and totally different characters. You've missed the point I'm afraid. If you think Robertson is a "hard man" in the mould of those mentioned, you've lost the plot I'm afraid.

No you haven't

Robertson is a brilliant full back but he is a bit of a sh*t on the pitch. I’ve noticed it a few times so it’s interesting to see this thread pop up. I don’t mind a bit of needle sometimes but the little elbows, digs in the ribs, nudging into players who are running at speed or off balance, I don’t like that.

Do what Hamilton, Parlour, Emerson et al did and tackle with your whole body if you’re so big and clever.

I can't remember Southgate Stamping on Keane but I do remember Keane getting sent off for stamping on Southgate after a challenge.

As I said - look at the challenge that caused the stamp.

Yes I have. We can all play that game.
Look at Keane’s challenge that led to Southgate jumping in in retribution, and then Keane’s stamp on Southgate. Keane’s initial tackle was over the top of the ball, studs up, looking to catch Southgate’s shins. That’s why Southgate reacted like he did.

So it was justified?

So it was justified?
No, I don’t think that’s what I said. You referenced Southgate’s tackle leading up to Keane stamping on him, I’m saying Keane’s initial tackle made Southgate make the bad tackle on Keane. They should both have been sent off, in fact Keane should’ve been sent off twice.
