Andy Robertson - Liverpool

No, I don’t think that’s what I said. You referenced Southgate’s tackle leading up to Keane stamping on him, I’m saying Keane’s initial tackle made Southgate make the bad tackle on Keane. They should both have been sent off, in fact Keane should’ve been sent off twice.

I’m not sure what your point is then because I agree with all of that. It was just an example of Southgate behaving badly in response to those that didn’t think he ever did.

I think we are getting a bit off track. My only point here is that the dark arts shown by Robbo (!) in that video happen in every game, with most players. It’s part of the game and there is nothing too untoward there. It’s naïve to believe otherwise.

I think I agree with you, though I do think Robertson pushes the niggly stuff further than others at times. I would say that may well be why Kane tackled him like that yesterday, because the Spurs players know he’s the main sh*thouse in the Liverpool team. And Kane set the tone with that, knowing he is/was unlikely to be sent off for it.

Of course some are more ‘at it’ than others and you could well be right - Kane setting the tone and to be fair it did help them I think.

For those using the YouTube Film as evidence. It's worth remembering that is done to delibrately portray Robertson in a negative way. There is zero context and no attempt to explain the circumstances of the game. I notice all the games were either European or local derby, so it's likely a lot riding on it and quite a big of needle between the two sets of players.

Yes Kane should have been sent off too

Yes Robertson is a fantastic player

Yes Robertson can be a bit of a Tv.vat - which like some others I personally dislike
Agree.

And I don't think anyone has disagreed with this to be honest?

There's plenty of players like Robertson who are a bit over aggressive in the way they play.

Definitely warranted his red card yesterday. Kane definitely deserved a red too. Will it stop Robertson from being aggressive? Probably not. Just like it rarely stops other players who can be OTT in their approach.

As I’ve said repeatedly, I don’t think it’s an “aggressive approach” that annoys people about Robertson.

Robertson is a great competitor and I don't mind that really. He's 100% every game and unlike some other champion shithouses, he's up front in the way he plays I think ie what you see is what you get, no playacting or sneakiness.

Take it you haven't seen him vs Tom Davies then, as sneaky as it gets.

They are very entitled, they expect a foul every time they are tackled and want a card for every foul.
Bit like Arteta....running up and down like another demented Simeone, waving imaginary cards to the ref every time someone looks at one of his players the wrong way.....
Kane deserved a red btw

Tell me where I mentioned because my issue is with him being aggressive and combative? Good spin. Its the slyness and wind-up merchant nature of his character. I'm saying I personally don't like it, I'm not saying he should be hung, drawn and quartered am I? I'm, saying he's not my cup of tea. Aggressive players such as those mentioned are part of the game and totally different characters. You've missed the point I'm afraid. If you think Robertson is a "hard man" in the mould of those mentioned, you've lost the plot I'm afraid.

But all of those players I mentioned could be right bastads. Especially Souness and Glover, and we loved them for it.
And their shithousery was inspired by those qualities of aggression and combatativeness I mentioned
I'm no fan of any club except Middlesbrough, but I don't have such boro tinted glasses on that when I see players like Robertson I can't admit that they are a) a fantastic player and b) I would absolutely love them if they played for us.

I dont disagree with any of your comments.

I don't disagree that all players have it in them to dish out nasty tackles, it is the attitude that Roberton displays afterwards that I don't like and the nasty streak he displays with elbows on players when they are already on the floor, the follow through on players and then arguing with the ref that he hasn't done anything. His mouthy attitude towards players and then hiding behind other tougher players for protection. His constant niggle at players and when they react he goes off running to the ref..

He is a class footballer who displays a horrible nasty streak.

And yes, I would be foolish to think we haven't had players who have done similar things. I think I cheered at Goodison when Glover kneed Peter Reed up the backside when he was bent over tieing his boot laces.
