I thought he was “only” on 10-15k per week.

I’d prefer to keep him, think his best years will be later in his career (injuries permitting).

Don’t blame him for wanting to consider his options in the summer, if you’re so close to the end of the contract you may aswell see what your options are / how high your stock is.
 
Make him a reasonable offer, and if that is not accepted, then goodbye. He's not exactly Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and we can cope without him. I trust Warnock to find someone to replace him.

He's not going to improve - he is 26 and has played about 150 games. He's hardly all of a sudden going to turn into Messi. He's OK - probably a shade better than some of our other striker options, but not irreplaceable.
 
There isn't a good player in him at all.
He does not have a striker's instinct, or technique.

Warnock will do better than them both, for less.
 
Fletcher I'd like to stay as I think he could be very decent for us..
Britt, can go now & certainly wouldn't be offering any kind of contract offer.. I feel he is more of a threat to us than for us: wasted & missed chances plus middling team play at best..

Warnock doesn't agree with you as Fletcher has been offered a new deal. You will struggle to square that circle indeedio
 
Consistently improved during his time here and is now a good championship striker when fit.

He was the wrong player at the time, and we paid to much for him. Neither of these facts is relevant to what we should do next. Neither was how he played in his first year, or at SUnderland. We don't somehow change the past by letting him go for free now.

The only source I can find says he's on 13k/week which doesn't sound outrageous.
 
i think Fletcher's worth keeping, but if he gets a better offer elsewhere good luck to him. Warnock will be looking at a target man type in the summer in the mould of that fella who we missed out to Cardiff on last summer, I reckon he might have a punt on one of the lads from Rotherham who did well against us, Smith or Crooks?
