Been a great season

It really has been a terrific season, one of our wilder ones, we haven’t done anything by halves. I get the point about the first few games till Carrick arrived, but in a daft way, that added to the emotional impact.

I think we have to acknowledge Leo’s part in it too, taking charge and blooding Hackninho was the ignition of our phoenix from the flames moment, the appointment of Cool hand Mike was the beginning of our new found belief, he reinvigorated the club from top to bottom and quickly won the fans over. ‘M’ is for Michael (our gaffer), ‘M‘ is for Middlesbrough, ‘M’ is for Middlesbrough fans, we are the ‘M’ People and we have been Moving On Up ever since (sorry).

Lets finish the job off now and makes sure the M is for Magnificent and not Misery.

I trust Carrick to replace any players we lose with better or as good. Chuba will stay whatever I think, he's seen enough to know where he's happy. Steffen and Giles may well stay too, but aren't irreplaceable. Archer would be a fantastic signing, but there's more than us that would be interested if Villa were to sell. Don't get me wrong, I think it would be fantastic to go up, but think we've had a tremendous season whatever happens.
Agree re: Chuba. Think he was caught shouting "I'm staying" after he scored v Hull. Obviously nothing is certain and money talks, but I do like our chances of having him sign an extension.

And yep, Carrick is key whatever happens. My point was I don't us being any more "ready" to go up next season than we are now.

There'll likely be a big turnover of players either way.

I agree with the sentiment, we'll only get better next season if we miss out in the playoffs. Loan signings under Carrick have been excellent and I'm sure he'll be able to repeat that with some astute signings over the summer if we are in this league next season. My heart wants promotion, but my head tells me we aren't ready and I worry we would implode again like last time with a season fighting relegation in the EPL.
It's a long old season in the championship. I'd rather be spending January and February trying to get something against the odds at the Emirates, Anfield or Villa Park on a Friday or Saturday night than trudging to Birmingham or QPR for a Tuesday night kick off

Great season so far and let’s be honest, apart from the sort of local rivalry element with the Mackems, there is nothing to fear from the other play off teams.

I don't think it's a case of people actually wanting to remain in the Championship next season, but there is sadly a possibility we may have to.

But if we don't go up, the squad will have a major overhaul. Maybe get one or two of the loan players back but would not be surprised to see 10-12 players in/out.

I have more confidence in our recruitment model actually working, so there's that, but this assumption that this squad will p*ss the league next season - not happening.

Wherever we end up, going to be a very busy summer. Get that left footed CB and we're unstoppable 👍

Carrick and co haven't had a pre-season with this squad and recruitment has been much better of late, wherever we end up the current model should be maintained, even with promotion we should be looking at players with pedigree for a Championship promotion campaign the following year, good resale value or loans from the bigger clubs.

It's been absolutely brilliant, but if we don't go up now it means we've either lost a 2 legged tie against Coventry or a play off final against either Luton or Sunderland so we'll all be absolutely devastated and it'll leave everyone feeling quite disappointed & next season there is going to be around 16/17 teams in the division who all have very serious aspirations of at least finishing in the top 6 it's going to be as difficult as it's ever been.
Yes I would be gutted but I would still think of it as a great year

Trusting the recruitment is massive - last season the Wilder / Scott breakdown hampered us.....to put it mildly.

Archer / Ramsey or Gayle / McGoldrick? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

We know from past experience that buying players is very tricky to get right (for every team, not just us). Much easier if we go up and have a realistic chance of signing Stefen, Giles, and maybe Ramsey and Archer (even if on loan again). Important and exciting few weeks ahead. Been a great season with a way of playing now established by Carrick. Whatever division we are in, I think we will continue to play the same way.

We all get tetchy throughout the season when results do not go well, as we all want the Boro to succeed. When this season ends no matter what happens in the playoff. The Season has been brilliant. A brilliant manager a brilliant top scorer. Many thanks MFC

It has been brilliant. I'm looking forward to sitting down and watching back our high and lowlights this season

Hope the recruitment boys do the business next season, Akpom stays around, and we somehow get Archer and Ramsey to move on frees 👀
