Ben Davies - Preston N.E. - £2M

What a move for the lad if that happens. Was only other day I was reading he was close to a pre contract with Celtic.

Preston are losing everyone !

Think they have 5-6 going out of contract. They are cashing in before they leave for nothing. The majority are first team regulars.

A bit like we should have last year but the wages they were on meant no fecker could afford them.
I don't know whether you realise it or not but your wage on one contract has no bearing on your next contract.

PNE signed Browne and Johnson on new contracts lately , and signed 5 players , expecting to lose a couple who were out of contract such as Fisher , Pearson and Davies . Davies looks like getting a dream move to LFC reserves for £2m fee.

It certainly does when the new contract you're being offered is half of your current contract. MMmmmm! Shall I sign for this new club or just hang out where I am for the rest of the season?

Huddersfield have a ton of players out of contract in the summer!!

It's a strange one from Liverpool because I thought the young lad Phillips played very well today. Suppose it gets Henderson out of defence back into midfield.

Of course it does. I will take Britt as an example.

Why leave when he's on 35k a week for 6 months to join a club for 20k? He could just refuse to move and stay on 35k and join that club in the summer (probably demanding more than 20k due to no signing on fee).

A footballer on a decent contract is gonna have a shock when he had to renew or move. It's a completely different landscape. So many will happily sit on what they have left even if not wanted or not playing.

To be honest I hope Britt does leave. If Warnock is trying to off load him or he reads this board he is hardly feeling 'welcome'.

Financially it will be brilliant for him, career-wise it's a huge gamble. He knows that once 1 or 2 players are fit he will end up not playing.
Once in a lifetime opportunity for him. Look at Andy Robertson when he left Hull. He took his chance and is a first team player now.

Just read they are only receiving 500k up front. Then 1.1mil in add ons. Although they do have a 20% sell on clause.

Its a great move for the lad and life changing financially👍

When they're all fit, Liverpool will have VVD, Gomez, Matip, Williams, Phillips ahead of Davies in the pecking order for CB.

Potentially even Fabinho too.

Great financial award for the lad, and it would be very very hard to turn it down because the next game could be career ending and he may never get this type of opportunity to go to a Champions League club again but it's going to be very, very tough for him to break into that Liverpool team when everyone is fit.

Can't imagine there will be another situation in which all their CB's will be injured again

He will probably fancy himself to be on par and compete with Williams and Phillips. I think Williams never looked ready in the games I had seen them but Phillips is doing well.

Even if he does well until the summer he will probably get a move in the summer to a half decent team. Great move for the lad in my opinion and a no brainier

To be fair, it does speak volumes from Klopp when he would rather remove 2 of his best CM's and play both Henderson & Fabinho at CB than Williams & Phillips.

I don't think I'd turn the offer down neither, but I just hope it doesn't harm his career and he ends rotting away in the reserves once all of Liverpools main CB's get back from injury.
