Probably Sept before some get their second dose. But pubs open on 12 April with full opening by 21 June. All adults won't be jabbed until late July. Younger people at the back of the queue.

Ah were that true Artie. The tories see you and I as the batteries in the matrix mate.Nobody is suggesting this is forever mate, it's to get us out of this restrictive living by adapting for a period of time to enable non-restricted living. We've got this disease with us forever though, so again, we have to learn to adapt and accept the risks once they have been minimized. Focus for now on the journey, not the destination
I understand scepticism and cynicism, but to rage against the machine is not always productive; pick our battles carefully, to do not do so wastes resource and is detrimental to the ones we could've won otherwiseAh were that true Artie. The tories see you and I as the batteries in the matrix mate.
pubs won't safely have the capacity for everyone anyone, patience is a virtueBut pubs open on 12 April with full opening by 21 June. All adults won't be jabbed until late July. Younger people at the back of the queue.
They've picked one or two to make a headline.I’m surprised any nightclub owners are in favour because looking at the age groups that will be vaccinated they’re going to have to rely on more than just a Thursday night for “Grab a Granny Night”!
I've disagreed with most of your recent posts, but 100% not this, your absolutely correctpubs won't safely have the capacity for everyone anyone, patience is a virtue
that would be difficult anyway, because pubs are not going to be at full capacity for some time.So no spur of the moment nights out?
Largely because we are in closer proximity in hospitality venues, plus after a beer or 2 we're more likely to shake hands or hug to greet or bid farewell for the evening. That likelihood increases as the evening wears on. Supermarkets have more space and most of us dont feel any greater need to make physical or close contact in correlation with the number of isles we've trawled up an downThey've picked one or two to make a headline.
The vast majority of landlords, bar owners and nightclub owners are against this.
People can preach for it all they want on here but if it comes in a huge can of worms has been opened.
Plus why only hospitality? Why don't you want a vaccine passport to visit the supermarket? Or the hospital? Or the doctor's surgery?

That said, I would not necessarily be against this approach to non-hospitality settings. Slightly different for emergency hospital admissions, but I dont see why the approach can not or should not be employed elsewhere
Very good pointAnd because hospitality is the only one in the list that is not necessary.
I would assume due to the necessity of the visitPlus why only hospitality? Why don't you want a vaccine passport to visit the supermarket? Or the hospital? Or the doctor's surgery?
And social distancing is manageable in those environments. Pubs can operate half empty if they choose to do but I'd expect most to buy into this.I would assume due to the necessity of the visit
3 weeks to save the NHS. You've been mugged off.that would be difficult anyway, because pubs are not going to be at full capacity for some time.
On top of that, is it really such an issue for no impromptu nights out for another 9 months? Normality isn't returning for any of us for some time, that's just a fact and a necessity

You'd expect wrong, it's completely unmanageable. And social distancing is manageable in those environments. Pubs can operate half empty if they choose to do but I'd expect most to buy into this.
The practicalities don't sound right though.
Artie, it's a terrible point. It's like saying seeing your family is not necessary, or watching sport, or going to the cinema or theatre. These are all necessary thingsVery good point
I wouldn't bother mate.Artie, it's a terrible point. It's like saying seeing your family is not necessary, or watching sport, or going to the cinema or theatre. These are all necessary things
Watching family is of course necessary, but I dont see any proposal for vax passport for that. The others are essentially luxuries, it's a bit of a stretch to say they are necessary, they are pastimes IMOArtie, it's a terrible point. I dunno, do I believe someone in the hospitality sector, to the nurses and doctors that I'm friends with about the stress and strain on the system? It's such a dilemma isn't it professional health service people or people that serve food and drink?!3 weeks to save the NHS. You've been mugged off.
Does that include my Nokia 3310?if you have a mobile in your pocket they know every step you take anyway so whats the problem ?
