That thread shows what I've been saying all along, Johnson still commands votes despite people seeing him for what he really is. It makes me despair at times at what some people will forgive or ignore in their own self-interest.

Yep I made the mistake of reading through some of it, bloody depressing. It was what I imagine Trumpian cult stuff looks like. There were tweets urging people to leave the Tories and join ReformUK slating Sunak as a 'centrist remainer'. When this was corrected by some pointing out that he had backed Leave this was dismissed with statements like "he's saying that now" or "I can't remember him campaigning for Leave" (he'd been an MP for 1 year at the time of the referendum, no one had heard of him

The Commons Leader, who remembers being ejected from the Cabinet by Mr Johnson on his first day in office in July 2019, told him most of her MP supporters would prefer to back Mr Sunak - and that he should consider dropping out of the race and leave her to face him alone.
