Boro confident Payero will get work permit

If this lad is right we should be ok on a work permit View attachment 21283
according to transfermrkt he has only played 62% of minutes this season....it might not be so accurate with Argentinian stats as european ones. Plus they were in the cup, not the league because the league didn't operate this season. It would need an appeal to validate the cup minutes count OR you could argue he played 100% of Banfields league minutes last season, because he certainly didn't miss any,

He needs 15 points for his work permit from this monstrosity of a set of tables.

The Argentinian league is Band 3, so he gets 8 points straight away from that. The Argentinian League didn't run in 20-21, but they ran the Maradonna cup instead and he played 62% of mins in that. I'm sure we will argue that the cup was their only national competition and therefore the only way to measure Table 2. If that's accepted then he gets another 5 points, taking him to 13 already. This would probably entitle him to win on appeal as a 22 year old.

Banfield qualified for the Copa Sudamericana (Their UEFA League) which is a band 2 continental competition, gaining another point, taking it to 14. They are in the group stages, so any player in that squad will get 2 points if they get knocked out at group stages. Maybe this si the argument, that regardless what happens, he will be due 2 points once the group stage is completed. Can he just claim those points now, or must we wait 2-3 months for the group to be finished and then apply in December? Also table 5 is about international football, but the scheme doesn't define if it's just senior caps, or if U23, U21 suffice for points?!

It seems he might need an appeal, but would almost certainly win the appeal and if it failed we could loan him back for three months and then he would win a work permit by the completion of the Copa Sudamericana group stages.

What a farce this system is.

If U23 olympics counts (it probably should) then one appearance will also get him the points he needs.

Jesus Christ, good research 👏 👏

Has anyone seen him play yet?

Even a two-minute Youtube video highlight reel of some almost passes and shots that just go wide, made up of his last 4 years? I'll cling onto any sort of hope, reel me in 🎣 🎣
