Boro confident Payero will get work permit

I can see the logic in most of the factors in earning points to get a work payment, however the 2 below are a little baffling. The reality is that their are teams who might finish near the bottom of the league and may not play continental football, however that doesn't mean the player isn't decent.

  • Final league position of their last club
  • Continental progression of their last club
 
Not entirely sure what points he needs 15 or
10-14 judging by that tbh, this work permit wrangle has been around ages, I understand it by not bringing every footballer over from foreign climes but this lad is obviously a talent, I mean if we got Fabio over here just cos he was Emo's cousin we cannot mess this one up surely!

Emerson and Fabio had Portuguese passports if I recall correctly.

We do still have Leo on the coaching staff. And if we registered him as a player he could probably still do a better job between the sticks than Bettinelli did.

Moreno is Bolivian (sorry I thought you were referring to Brazilians). Anyone know if his eyesight was saved after golf ball hit him?
 
Payero hasn’t been given a squad number at Banfield for the upcoming season. The Argentinian press have reported that they assume he’s been sold to Middlesbrough but there has been no official announcement.
