Oh no hang on, late VAR decision coming in , just a min it's all being checked. Yes , what a turnaround, you can bring your own VAR ,, that's Vodka and Rum , to the match but it just be mixed down to no more than 5% abv. They will measure it with alcohol meters they float in your drink and woe betide anyone being over the level.

shame on all of the international football associations that didn't have the backbone to stop all of this madness. It would have only taken 1 to pull out and the whole thing would have collapsed like a house of cards. Same thing happening in our domestic game - you can see that within a year or 2, NUFC are going to be the media darlings!
 
I'd be worried if I was a member of the LGBTQ community. This late change of mind over alcohol sales could be the first of many. Qatar is an authoritarian regime remember and it is far too late for FIFA to pull the plug if the Qataris try and pull any other stunts.
 
Living in Glasgow my old firm supporting mates are amazed when they hear I can go to a boro match and have a beer while watching the game.
 
The more I think about this the more I think this was always the plan - how can you decide something like this two days before the start. Too late for those people who’ve booked to change their plans. Old FIFA being as bent as ever whilst looking after their corporate friends with lashings of champagne being available in hospitality at the grounds.

This is what you get from corrupt and entitled royals. No one ever says no to them.

Should FIFA demand that this is reversed by the Qatari royal family, they will simply say no, and threaten to shut the competition down.

FIFA must play hardball, tell them if this isn't reversed it will be subject to review post world cup, with the possibility of enormous fines on Qatar and up to 12 years banned from all international football. Without threats like this, it's open season for any host country to take the pish
