Who knows, we may see enough of a shift to get back in the SM and CU, which I think would be a fair compromise to the vast majority, rather than screwing over 90%, so 10% can take advantage.

If there had been any honourable politicians in the Conservative Party that is what should have happened. A soft Brexit with continued membership of the Single Market and the Customs Union, like Farridge said "why can't we be like Norway?" and we could have been.

What we need at the next GE is an Anti Tory coalition with the express intention of voting reform to institute a full PR system and do away with the unelected second house. The two party system fails us again and again giving power to a political minority. We need to grow up as a nation and accept our place in the world and what we are.

Yeah, exactly, agree with all of that.

It was complete madness to leave the SM and CU, with ties which favoured us for decades and then even claim we could make that up with a deal with the US, who also at the time were being run by a joke of a man, who only cares about himself.

Thinking you can ditch 50% of your trade, ditch trade with your neighbours who practically surround you, or have the upper hand against an economy with 10x more people, or trade with the other side of the world more favourably is laughable that it was even suggested. Well, it would have been laughable if those lies were not so easy to make a load of people lap them up.
