Thanks for that link. As it's a series it could form a good thread on it's own.How the British royal family hides its wealth from public scrutiny
Ahead of the coronation of King Charles III, the Guardian’s Cost of the crown series exposes the entrenched secrecy around the royal family’s money and wealthwww.theguardian.com
Parasites the lot of them.
I wind my MIL up constantly. She was born and raised in what was at the time a Crown Colony (though now independent) and grew up as a British citizen, even before she moved here at 17. Her loyalty to the Royals (and the bible and the Tories!) is unshakable. I often tell her that they’d have her on a plane to Rwanda if they thought they could get away with it. Obviously I’m joking, and she knows that.Like my missus’ mother and Aunties. I’m banned from talking about my views on the Royal Family in their company as it causes turmoil!
They talk about the RF as if they’re their next door neighbours & life long friends. Absolutely brain washed.
Naturally, I’m Harry and Meghans biggest fan now. Won’t have a bad word said about them. Her family have drove me to it!
I'm going to the pub - their views are like mine and there's no TV.I am banned from the house whilst its on tv after my negative remarks about the queens funeral. Great to see the piece in the guardian about the establishment hiding the duchys investment and financial affairs from public scrutiny. Charles plays the bumbling old fool abit like boris but behind the scenes i am sure he is an equally nasty piece of work. Certainly not my king or queen. I am hoping for some civil disruption to the nonsense which is the coronation it has absolutely no place in the 21st century.
Her Auntie got an award off The Queen a couple of year back. Done the big day in London etc. The family were buzzing but I was a little torn. I didn’t want to take away from her moment but likewise, I was thinking “I’d tell The Royal Family to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine”.I wind my MIL up constantly. But yeah, she hates Harry and Meghan so naturally I take their side every step of the way.
I might repaint the hallway or give the lawns their first cut. Anything but watch Charles in that gold coat worn by mummy
It's a load of rubbish & we should get rid but it is just a name change following sexist / royalist convention rather than anything fundamental/constitutional.Not for me. Never ever.
The Queen said she should be called Queen Consort so he has gone completely against her wishes.
Disgraceful.
Need to get rid of this lot.

I don't care what they call her, or what they call any of them, but I did think it odd that she was being referred to as Queen Consort, Philip was always Prince Philip, no reference to the Consort bit.

When a woman is on the throne, they are a Queen but their husband can't be King, as King ranks higher than a Queen so then he'd be on the throne. So to avoid all that the husband stays as Duke/Prince etc. & the no one gets confused.
When a man is on the throne, they are a King & their wife can be Queen, however she isn't on the throne and her being Queen doesn't alter the line of succession when the king dies it would still pass through his line and not to her.
If you could live stream it, I'm inCan I come and watch your paint dry it would be far more exciting
He wasn't King Philip either, simply because he was married to the Queen.I don't care what they call her, or what they call any of them, but I did think it odd that she was being referred to as Queen Consort, Philip was always Prince Philip, no reference to the Consort bit.
oh Muniz, why would you be a fan of aristocracy??make her queen and give her a payrise
Well I know that, I just mean consort wasn't mentioned. Any road, I don't care what any of them go by. I know what I call them.He wasn't King Philip either, simply because he was married to the Queen.
I wonder why the old Queen Mother (Liz's Ma) was never called such? I would have thought "King's Mother" or "Queen Mother" (except of course biologically she isn't I suppose, maybe that's why?)I refer you to my earlier reply...
What is "interesting" is what she'll be called if she outlives Charles & William ascends to the throne, apparently the Queen Dowager.
