Carrick realised it wasnt working and he changed it

He's doing what he should of done at the start of the season let the new signings bed in and develop get up to speed then introduce them of the bench and hopefully they come good. I haven't wrote the signings of yet they are just projects. But then you have to hand it to RVB he's the cheapest most inexperienced of our signings and is thriving
They were our main signings? We didn’t have the option to do that they were supposed to be our replacements for what we lost in the summer

Still a lot of improvement needed, as big as the win was today.

We are ridiculously open in every game, and he's currently not utilising subs effectively.
The subs I agree could be improved upon. As for the defence, we haven't had a settled back 4 yet, part through having to change things around with it not working, but part due to injuries such as Bangura etc.

seems a bit steep tbf but actually think he is decent and will come good eventually
He will score more goals than Coburn this season I think. Would like to see the two play together. I would have brought him on as sun today. They were wide open when pushing for a third goal later in the match.

Not sure why you don’t rate Coburn.

He`s not changed anything actually.
He`s continuing with the process of integration and assimilation of the new lads into the squad and has probgressively introduced them in games - more minutes and more experience. Nothing scientific or "mistake" in that. Thats what Coaches do.
Always happy to see a smile on his face:

Of course he’s changed things as he went with all starting before and it didn’t work so he’s reverted to what he knows.

Of course he’ll never admit that but we can see it with our eyes.

Only three new players from last season - coburn, vdb and dieng. All have performed well and fully deserving of their spots. Too soon to tell with Rogers, Lath, Silvera and Greenwood. Not sure he fancies barlaser. Only Engel could be considered a total failure.
Hopefully our season has now finally started!

Coaching isnt a secret.
There is no one formula.
"Never admit".
How can you be completely sure of what pieces of a jigsaw fit, before you get them out the box and spread them on the table!
Then "not admit" you knew how all the pieces went together anyway.
Come on - this isnt a secret theory, its real life.
Like following a map.
All roads arent straight - even the ones the Romans built.

I`l repost every transcript of every media conference if you like and you`ll understand exactly how he coaches and how it fits into an overall process. There are no secrets or things he wont "admit".
Thats cheap journalist talk and click bait nonsense.

Four actually, don't forget O'brien.

Don't know how anyone can judge any signings and criticise recruitment yet. We all knew these players were projects and a new route. I think we will only know whether Scott etc have recruited well in a couple of years. By that I mean we can see Engles struggling now for example, but he's still a young player developing and in a few years time he'll have either progressed into a good player or stagnated like a coulson type.

And then the only mistake may be seen as not spreading the recruitment between experience and youth, rather than lopsided on youth which means shorter term struggles for longer term gains.

Too many new signings playing at once, we already had decent players, we lost a lot of talent when Archer, Ramsey and Giles went back to their parent clubs but we still had proven players at this level.
Signings should have been made to augment what we had.
I don’t agree with those who have written the new lads off, you can see they have talent, Rogers especially.
So glad we kept Josh, I reckon he’ll get at least 15 if he’s given the game time, the lads a natural finisher.

How can anyone say Engel is a total failure after so few games? Alright, he's been poor but to write him off so quickly is daft.

I'm sure this is the 10th different line up this season. He's hardly settled on anything yet. Injuries and form guide team selection.

I dont think its a surprise to most that Mcgree and Jones are in our best attacking lineup. Mcgree did not appear fit 4 weeks ago.

It was mad to have so many new players in all at once, but I think injuries and the return to fitness has had as much impact on the strength of the 11 for me.

Hopefully the new players will now be able to slide in and provide depth and we can get a settled back 4.

I like him its just I think he is not at the level we need. Ok as a stop gap but we need more quality if we are to progress. Had a good game yesterday and great finish for the goal. He may progress but to me he is lower championship(which is were we are now) or league 1 level. If we are to get to the position that we want to be we need someone better.

Thats just my opinion though and I know loads are going to give me pelters and loads think differently. I will be a happy man if Josh proves me wrong.

I think he has premier league potential personally. He is 20 years old and he’s man handling experienced championship centre backs offering movement and providing a goal threat and also involving others with his hold up play. He’s a bit of a throwback and to be honest if he continues he will be sought after. I hope he’s here for years to come and can show he’s a top championship player.

Coburn seems to me to be confident enough to play against whatever he is sent out to do. If I was managing him I'd be happy to let him have that free reign for as long as he continues to exceed any potential that anyone might have arbitrarily set for him.

Edit: I do appreciate that sounds a touch Wilderian regarding attitude v ability.

Corburn looks more suited to the championship than Lath to me. He can finish and has the physical attributes to do really well.

Lath gets himself in good positions but couldn’t finish his dinner. Hopefully the Bradford goal will give him confidence but a championship keeper saves that.

One thing I like about coburn is that
he’s a fighter and it showed by going on
Loan to Bristol and to Plymouth this season (it was all agreed) he’s prepared to fight for his place in the side and he wants to play and if that means a loan spell so be it.

He has a great drive and we know he has the talent and can shine on big stages ( as spurs found out) , how far he goes is really up to him.
